New lunch ideas near Augora Hills, will travel

Have you tried Pookies (thai) in Westlake Village yet? Also, Pita the Great (at Kanan and Lindero) is a family owned gyro, shwarma, and burger place. The original owner sold it to a couple a year or so ago, but the last time I tried it I enjoyed the chicken shwarma pita.

Confused: Capital Seafood or NEW Capital for dim sum (cart)?

Thanks, Chandavkl. Maybe we'll put off the trek until next Saturday. It sounds like even Saturdays might be less busy.

thanks! we were thinking of brunch tomorrow, but are now wondering if celebration of the Chinese New Year might make every place much more crowded tomorrow (sunday 2/10)?

I've been checking out all the old threads and still am confused on this. Which do you recommend for weekend brunch/lunch? Thanks :0).

Splurge restaurants in Ventura County

There is a new restaurant in Camarillo - Sapphire (might not be the correct spelling) - by the owners of California Grill. For nearby upscale-ish seafood there is Fins in Westlake Village.

Too Many Relatives Coming Over for Thanksgiving!

Why not order from Gelson's or Bristol Farms? They are both in your area and offer everything you need. I don't think you're too late to order if you order by tomorrow (Saturday). You even have a Whole Foods in your area (on Moorpark Road in T.O.).
People on this board have had very good things to say about their TG items. Good Luck and Happy Thanksgiving!

Camarillo/Oxnard Area Dinner Recs

I've been to California grill several times and it is consistantly good. If you go "early bird" (before 7 pm, I think) the prices are much lower - even alcohol is discounted.
I've heard that Safire is good (haven't yet tried it). It's the same owners as California Grill. It is more expensive, however. Hope this helps for the next time you head up that way.

the best SANDWICH in (Los Angeles) period.

Love: My Hero (pastrami w/tomato salad); Phillipes (beef w/blue cheese dip) and Huston's french dip.

But my favorite goes to the GodFATHER sandwich @ Bauducco's in Westlake Village (Conejo Valley). If you ever find yourself out that way, it's worth a special trip. It's a hot sandwich on a fresh italian roll (baked on the premises) with prosciutto, pastrami, ham, roast beef, swiss cheese, roasted red pepper and butter.

It sounds like a huge mess, but it is actually not overwhelming or even messy to eat. The bread soaks up the juice and it is amazing. Yummmmmmmmmmm!

Good Breakfast In Woodland Hills?

Nico's Family Restaurant & Coffee Shop is really good. It's won awards but is down to earth and right around Warner Center:
