Looking for good eats in Columbia SC
I like Rockaways too...great local joint. Also, Edna's is good, Al Amir is family run, and Paul's Philadelphia Eatery-the newer place in the Vista w/the yankee food is good and definately family run...the kids were in there working last time we went. Nonnah's is owned and run by a sweet older couple...and Macdougall's and Blue Marlin are also family run. Off the beaten path about 25 miles is Delamater's in Newberry....awesome food.
KNOXVILLE, TN to EDISTO, SC
The Mustard Seed is good to, but on James Island...not so on the way to Edisto
Places not to be missed in a visit to NC, SC, GA
I love fried chicken livers...no one makes em like mom...
where are you heading on Columbia? Try Mr. Friendly's, Motor Supply or Terra for a little more upscale
try Drake's, Mac's on Main or Paul's Philadelphia Eatery (weird.to be in the south..but great yankee food) for quick fare
Thai Lotus, Baan Swan, Inakaya, are yummy asian cuisine
Al Amir for mediterranean/middle-eastern
Dianne's...5 star
Oyster bar...hole in the wall, but good seafood...and full oyster bar in the place
bbq...don't like it as much as Shealy's in batesburg-leesville
New Philly Cheesesteak place in Columbia SC Vista - anyone tried it?
Paul's Philadelphia Eatery on the corner of Senate and Park...they are the Real Deal...ribeye, amoroso rolls, an italian guy with a Philly accent...great pizza too...just like home. Paulies in northeast is not the same as Paul's Philadelphia in the vista...don't care for Paulie's pizza or Pop's...neither one hits the same mark. Next to the Flying Saucer...hard to see the sign, but they're in between the mexican place and the saucer..

Baan Swan is really good...also for "quick" and different..check out Paul's Philadelphia Eatery in the Vista...they have real phillies and awesome pizza..even tira misu and cannolis. Also, Mr. Friendly's if five points is good but pricey....excellent pimento filet though.
