Just because it is shaped like a BGE doesn't make it one. The heat retention of the thick ceramic in the BGE is the main benefit. The 'steel BGE' is not even in the same ballpark!

The BGE warranties everything but the metal bands for the lifetime of the Egg. the metal parts are only 5 years for rust and oxidation.

All you really need to do is ask the store manager or owner where you shop to have the Frito Rep leave some for you. They might not stock them in the store you shop in because of lack of sales. But, they are not a discontinued item and you should not have any problem getting either a .99 bag or a 2.99 bag.

Hi hbieb, I'm sure if you ask the manager of the super market you shop in, to have the Frito rep drop off an extra case of Puffs and reserve them for you. Ask for UPC# 28400-08294. There are 12 bags in a case. Hopefully, they're on sale at the time so you don't have to pay full price.
Unfortunately, it is impossible to order direct from the F-L distribution Center, and I don't think a Frito driver would sell you directly off his truck. In past years that might have been a possibility, but now, everyone is watching their P's @Q's and no body would risk their job by selling direct.

Grinding the beans the night before will guarantee an inconsistent pot of coffee. That coffee you pre ground will go stale in 15 minutes. Picture white bread sitting open on your counter and that is how fast your coffee will go bad.

Best beans ever? Vietnam is the worlds largest producer of coffee beans. Unfortunately, they have a reputation of producing the worst coffee in the world. it is all cheap Robusta beans grown at sea level. Also, as John said, pre-grinding the beans only insure they will be stale by the time you use them.

Reading the article , the author merely speculated that the ingredient was pre-determined. He did not offer any proof whatsoever. It is still reasonable to believe the original theroy that the list of possible ingredients was given to the chefs, and they very well could have planned out a menu for each one of the possibilities.

On the BGE, I use a plate setter which creates an indirect heat. As far as how hot mine gets, I 've gotten it up to over 700*. As far as recovery, I really haven't checked that closely. Probably a few minutes.
You are correct about having the stone in the heats line of fire though.

Not if the stone is placed away from the direct heat. I cook pizza on my BGE all the time, and have never had a problem.
