Keurig coffee tastes burnt?

Every cup of coffee I'm getting out of my Keurig these days tastes burnt. Is anyone else having this problem or found a solution? They are the same coffees I had last month (same batch and all) so I don't think it's the K-cups. Thanks.

Ballantyne Charlotte NC

By the way - Poppy's fans - it appears that Poppy's has gone out of business. We called to order Saturday night and the lady answered the phone Italia or something like that. Looks like there have been menu changes and they changed the dough which was the best part. Shame. That's now two restaurants to go out of business in that spot.

Thanks for the Topz info - we tried it Friday night. Mr. ap1994 did not care for the turkey burger but I liked mine. My son had the turkey hot dog, I thought that was excellent. The place was immaculate but a little slow. Very kid friendly.

Is the Keurig supposed to be THIS loud?

Mine is loud. I take the cup off the base when it is refilling just to stop the rattling sound.

For those who don't want to commit to a box of k-cups - there is a site called bigcatcoffees.com that let's you pick 5 flavors per box of 25 at an extra charge ( 14/box) which is great to let you try stuff. Fast shipping, but that's a little pricey too. I enjoyed doing it a few times to figure out what I like.

In case you haven't found Nirvana yet - go out of stonehenge toward Lancaster Highway, take a left, go past the club, it's in the next shopping center on the left - where RedVentures is....it's ok as far as indian goes.

Also, Ballantyne Magazine has a restaurant section. The online version is a little out of date (some of the restaurants have closed and obviously with the explosive growth, more are streaming in) - http://www.ballantynemagazine.com/.

I was out near Ardrey Kell/Marvin - just 3-5 minutes south the other day and noticed they're putting in two more shopping centers - one with a Harris Teeter, and then just down there is a live/work complex coming in that lists a bagel shop as a tenant. Not open yet, but I'm looking forward to those.

Kid Friendly in Charlotte

Ok, I should have mentioned - my 2 year old is of the "unpredictable" variety. There are times he is a complete prince, and then there are the other times where he screams, won't sit in his high chair, etc. no matter what you do. We like places like Red Robin where 1) there are lots of things to distract him and 2) it's no big deal if you have to take him outside in the middle of the meal and/or it's loud enough that if he's complaining he's not disturbing others. I envy those parents with the kids that just sit stock still and eat their meals on their own. I'm hoping mine will get there soon.

Kid Friendly in Charlotte

Looks like we have quite a few hounds in Charlotte, so I thought I'd take advantage of your expertise. I'm looking for family friendly restaurants (toddler, infant) around Charlotte. We live in the Ballantyne area, but I'll take suggestions any where. We frequent Moes and Red Robin, just looking for a change. Thanks!

What is in the 18 k-cup Keurig variety pack

LOVE the newman's - thanks for the rec. Also got Gloria Jean's special blend decaf and butter toffee decaf - both are good. I'm brewing everything on the smallest setting now, that seems to help as well.

Ok, so I bought 15 new varieties, so I haven't made it over to the Newman's yet. I have changed my settings so now I brew all of my cups on the smallest instead of the medium, and the coffees have been better (not sure if that's because of size/strength or if I'm starting to pick coffees closer to my taste). today I'm having the Winter Wicked Blend - I'm a big fan. I've also tried GJ's Winter (not so good) GJ's Holiday Cheer (pretty good) and GJ's decaf butter toffee (very good). So, definitely making some progress. I have two Konas and the Newmans lined up next. Can't wait. Wish I could have more than one cup a day right now to try them all!!

Advice please -- Columbia, SC and Charleston

If they are dessert/wine fans, they should definitely head to Nonnahs (in Columbia, walking distance) after dinner - yum. I've stayed at the Hampton Inn - great choice, it's very nice.

Best Soups in Charlotte

I did a quick scan - I didn't see anybody recommend yet - The Original Soup Man - it's in the Hearst tower and is the soup featured in Seinfeld as the Soup Nazi. I have had almost all of the soups. The Crab Bisque and Chicken Vegetable are my favorites (oh and Clam Chowder) but they are all fantastic. Pricey though. Definitely worth checking out if you're a huge fan of soup.

What is in the 18 k-cup Keurig variety pack

Thanks - I actually use the My K-Cup as well - I think I said in one of my earlier posts, I was pregnant when I bought the Keurig and didn't have much in the way of decaf varieties, so I use the My K-Cup for my Dunkin Decaf and Starbucks Decaf. Now that I don't have to I like the convenience, ease, and variety of the cups themselves - no grinding, no cleaning!

What is in the 18 k-cup Keurig variety pack

THe trial packs on keurig.com aren't so bad - there's free shipping after $50, and I wanted a carousel, so I almost went that route. I ended up ordering from Big Cat Coffee though - they have a lot more of the decaf varieties and flavors than keurig, which is surprising because I thought keurig would carry all of the varieties. What I ended up doing is about the least cost effective possible - I spent almost $40 with shipping which is 1/3 higher than buying boxes. But, like I said, I haven't found a coffee I love yet, so it will be worth it to try everything out. I did get the Wicked Winter Blend, so hopefully that'll be great - it has fantastic reviews on Amazon. I have a B60 as well and only use the medium setting. I just had a baby, so i have been limited to decafs all this time - haven't found a single one with decent flavor - Emeril is the best so far, but I've ordered Newman's which has good ratings. The Kona I'm seeking is the only truly excellent cup I have had and that was of course not decaf.

What is in the 18 k-cup Keurig variety pack

Thanks! You're probably right about them swapping them out from box to box because I have looked everywhere for a list (even ebay, where folks will usually detail out to that level) and can't find it. I suspect the Kona was Timothy's, but I'm hesitant to order that because I've got three other varieties of Timothy's at home (decaf Colombien, Cinnamon Pastry, and decaf Hazelnut) at home right now and don't care for any of them.

What is in the 18 k-cup Keurig variety pack

Can anyone please list what is in the 18 k-cup variety pack that comes with Keurig brewers? Specifically I'm wondering what brand the Kona cup is. I went through the box and made the mistake of not writing down the brands/types before trying them. Thanks a million!

Family restaurants columbia, sc

All of the above are good. Some additional considerations - Hennessy's, Saluda's - both very nice, good atmospheres. No matter where you choose, make a reservation EARLY and that goes for hotels too. If you need a hotel, I'd recommend the Hampton Inn on Gervais - it's very high end for a Hampton Inn and convenient. Again, book early. All the restaurants above and in my list are expensive. If you want something more reasonable in price, post again.

charlotte, nc - need rec'n for good date resto (gift for newlyweds)

In that case, Tehama's suggestions above are really good location wise. There are also quite a few good restaurants in NoDa and Elizabeth that would be close by and more reasonably priced. Would have to defer to others on suggestions though.

Family Friendly Restaurants in Hilton Head?

We're heading to Hilton Head with a 2 year old and we're in need of some decent places to eat where we won't disturb the other diners. Need suggestions for breakfast/lunch/dinner for three or four days. THANKS.

charlotte, nc - need rec'n for good date resto (gift for newlyweds)

I think it really depends on what side of town they live on. If they live down near Union County, you don't want to send them to Huntersville and vice versa. Mimosa is pretty good and Nobles is excellent, but unfortunately way more expensive than your already generous price range. I might suggest Villa Antonio, since they have two locations, but check the prices online. Another really good choice is the Providence restaurants - Providence Cafe, Providence Bistro. Very nice, very good, not as pricey as Nobles. If you can give an area of town it'll be easier to suggest. There are tons of fabulous restaurants all over Charlotte.
