Make that Grumpy's-gosh I got it wrong twice
Gumpy's Roseville, $2 Surly beer on Mondays but food?
Help! accidently discovered Grimpy's has $2 Surly's on Monday nights from 7-10pm but haven't found any food that is worth having really. What is good to order? Doesn't have to be spectacular just something to go with the fabulous beer.
Cheap (but good) places for college kids in the Roseville area?
I live in the area of Panino's so have tried it many times. Find it expensive for what you get and the help is really clubby. Maybe if you are part of the club. Have been totally ignored in the bar while the staff and bartender chatted with their friends. I thought it was an off night so tried it again months later, same treatment. Only eat in the restaurant if forced by other people.
Best Chef's Table?
Who has the best chef's table in town? This is my reward for passing the CPA exam so the answer is critical. May I add that it is probably the only time I will ever do a chef's table so I want it to be memorable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
112 Eatery, still good?
I was wondering the same thing, maybe Becker is too distracted. That's why I went on the board with it. My food dollars, and time are not so great so every meal is important.
Thanks for the feedback.
Also, I must add the waiter was very nice, offered to buy dessert and did buy our drinks. I refused the dessert as we really ate most of it. When I was a waitress I hated people who ate every morsel then would say how bad it was.
112 Eatery, still good?
We ate at 112 Eatery last Sunday and it really was awful! The fries were way overdone, almost like canned fried potatoes. My husband pork chops were so salty they were almost inedible. He had to get up in the middle of the night to drink water. My burger, usually so reliable, was so greasy the bottom bun disintegrated.
We hadn't gone there for a while and it was a celebration dinner so I was really disappointed. My question to you, is this just one of those off nights?
Any good food in Duluth?
Favorites are Sarah'sTable, Hacienda del Sol, New Scenic, Nokomis, North Waters Smokehaus (if that's the one in the DeWitt Seits building) Amazing Grace, in Superior the Boat House i think it is called
Ice cream in Duluth (MN)
I think it was just chocolate, other flavors the family had were vanilla, berry something, caramel or butterscotch. I was just bummed because I've passed it so many times and I finally got to have one... but sweetness is a matter of taste. The people working there were very nice and the setting is so gorgeous.
MSP to Rapid City--any good restaurants mid priced or ethnic?
I know, ethnic in SD?, but you never know.. I posted this in the Midwest board b/c many midwesteners go to the Black Hills. We'll be driving all day from MSP so just want a good, not pricy restarant that we don't have to think about lunch on the way or dinner in Rapid City. Any help would be great,
Ice cream in Duluth (MN)
We were just in Duluth a few weeks ago. I finally was able to get a malt at the Portland Malt shoppe. I'd been eying it through the years but it never worked out. My whole family of 5 did not like them. Way too sugary! Even my 14 year old son who eats almost anything couldn't finish it because he hated the taste.
MSP Anniversary dinner Tuesday night--good deal at good restaurant?
Thanks for the suggestions. It's my first time on chowhound and it was exciting to see replies so fast.
As for Vincent's, we went there several years ago for our anniversary. They weren't busy but we were ignored for quite a long time. We cut out, figuring it was a lot of money to waste if the service was going to be spotty. Next day, we got a call from Vincent himself and a gigantic gift certificate in the mail. When we went in later we had a fabulous meal and Vincent came out to make sure our meal was a good experience.
MSP Anniversary dinner Tuesday night--good deal at good restaurant?
I know I read an article about all the good deals that MSP has on offnights. We just want a good dinner, anniversary worthy, at a good price. Quality of food more important than fancy atmoshpere.
Thanks for any suggestions.
