Rome: Apartment Rental Location

i'm at an apartment i rented through vrbo.com in trastevere. il ciak (mentioned on many rome posts) is around the corner and great for down hom meat and game , reasoable but packed most nights
there is a daily market the isn't bad
92 butchers -one meat 1 horse, 2 seafood vendors and chees and several fruit veg stands. mostly good qulity) there is an amazing cheese shop a block away from there that is slowly bleeding my wallet dry, a supermarket for the basics, a better older stylte grocery across from the market that has higher quality items than the supermarket(nad higher prices of course)
the food experience we've had out of the narea hasn't been as good. trastevere has become a little touristy, though alot of the crowds at night seem to be roman . This sat I'll hit testaccio market and see how it stacks up. Campo di Fiori is less food and more clothes.
vrbo.com is a great resource for rentals i've never gone wrong

Impossible: one dinner in Rome

il ciak is right around the corner from the apartment i've rented. i've been twice now. it is rustic but very good. if you want meat this is a great place. bistecca, boar, rabbit duck....
last night we had absolutely amazing pappardelle with wild boar (given that they are farmed now the wild should be in quotes)
get there reasonably early (ie 8) if you don't want to wait on the weekend, a little easier on weeknights. It's family run, home cooking old school. not how i would define romantic though. (reasonable prices though we've spent 50 euro one night and 60 the other
I will have to try Checchinno dal 1887 based on the boards praise before i leave next week

Queen & Broadview Openings

Comrade now has a liquor license and opens at 5 for cocktails, Soma looks interesting kida like a conran lounge resaurant, booze emporium now has prohibiotion accross their name ( guess the licensing people weren't amused---looks kinda scarey anyway. Burger Shoppe is awsome, though waits can be long, Dark Horse is best espresso in the neighbourhood and one of 2 or 3 best in the city. Another new one is Citizen. Finally after close to 20 years in the area I'm overwhelmed with choice ( Guess we must be one of the next trendy areas with dundas and ossington where tom thai just opened his new restaurant to good reviews)
