Hi Ben Ben,
It's true that each Pepe's has a slightly different way of doing their breakfast burrito, BUT, the location on Placentia always comes with bacon, without you having to ask. I feel that that particular location is the only one worth going to for breakfast burritos. Never had an issue with cold/grainy spots, and am wishing I had one now...

Living in Chicago now, and they (TJ's out here) stopped carrying my pickles about a year ago. Are they still carrying the fridge pickles in the west coast locations?

Thanks for your input folks. I was hoping for a tie-breaker. And, erring on the side of caution, I ended up heating my soup in a ceramic flower pot. How embarrassing.

Safe to microwave soup in a pickle jar?
I put left-over soup (miso/tofu/noodle concoction) in a pickle jar to bring it to work.
I was thinking it would be safe to reheat it in the glass jar (lidless obviously) in the microwave. Is this gonna work? Or am I gonna have a microwave full of soup and broken glass?

Double Rainbow ice cream based in San Francisco has a flavor called "It's a Goody." Not sure if they still serve it Humphrey Yogart in Sherman Oaks, so give them a call. If a trek over the hill is too far for you, maybe someone else knows of a non-Valley place that scoops it.

Laurel Ave. is the north/south running street one block east of Crescent Heights (aka Laurel Canyon). It's starts just above Sunset and ends at 3rd St. Is this the Laurel Ave. you're talking about? If so, Shrutefarms is right when suggesting Swingers. It's got to be the only diner.

Just saw the pic of the wood fired pizza at the Trattoria 225 website. It looks pretty good! The wording on the menu doesn't sound like what I'm looking for though. "Our thin crust 11" pizza is made w/organic whole wheat flour." I'm not sure, but a whole wheat flour crust might not yield what I'm looking for. BUT, I think we'll have to try it none-the-less.
Looked at the reviews on yelp of Freddy's. it's not always easy to yield useful, descriptive info from yelpers. But I did catch the words, "tough" and "dry." That won't work.

My husband (who knows what I am looking for in a pizza) has had Pompei and says that it doesn't fit the bill. Says it's too thin. He also said something about it being "vomity." I chose not to ask him to elaborate.

Salad Dressing
Regarding the EVOO. I recently bought a bottle of straight up Olive Oil. Not virgin. Not extra virgin. Hubby is so disturbed that I bought it. But, I have been so happy with it. EVOO is extremely pungent for use in dressing. Now I use mostly reg olive oil with a dash of EVOO.
