It is at 6501 N Macathur Blvd, IRVING 75039

recs for solo dining, near Warwick Melrose Hotel?

Send him to Eddie V's. I haven't been to the Own Lawn location but have been to Ft Worth and Austin. Bar was very welcoming and the seafood is top notch!

Marquee, Private Social, or Cedars Social?

Our little one is five months! Enjoy your night out. Marquee would be my rec. private Social is in my building for work. Their lunch is pretty boring and my three tries have all yielded marginal at best. Service is average and the food is ok. Nothing too exciting.

Business Dinner in North Dallas

Kenny's at Beltline and the Tollway.

Looking for rec's for a birthday dinner

I would try NOSH. They just opened the new location near the intersection of Preston and Park. It is down Park in the old Awaji space.

Moderately priced Birthday dinner near AAC??? or along 75

Try Komali. It is off 75 & Fitzhugh. Salum would also be an option if the price point isn't too high.

bridal shower lunch in downtown dallas

Salum is wonderful. They would be on your way from downtown to Plano. I would recommend that you look at NOSH. They have just opened a Plano location and I would be surprised if they couldn't exceed all expectations.

If you are more interested in finding a downtown/uptown location you should check out Parigi. I did a ladies lunch there before I got married and we had a great time. Have fun!

Parents need help! Best Italian restos in Dallas?

Andiamo's on Beltline in Addison.

best pita bread in Dallas supermarkets or bakeries?

Try Izmir Deli on Greenville. You can get just packages of pita or you can order a hot sandwich and eat it at the counter. They have excellent pita bread and I like their hummus and sometimes their eggplant dip. (they also deliver to some areas).

Pre-Made Individual Crisps -- How Long Will They Last?

If you can spare the ramekins I would freeze the extras. They would be great baked off after work in a week or two when you have a busy day. I would wrap the ramekins in foil and place in a freezer bag.

Turduckens in DFW

You might check out this Cajun store in Lewisville. It's been a few years since I bought anything, but my experiences were positive.

Addison solo dining

Kenny's Woodfire Grill would be my suggestion if you want to stay in Addison. It is on Beltline and The Tollway. You can generally get a good spot at the bar to watch the people, which generally provides more than enough entertainment and the food and drinks are great. You can do anything from a burger, to fish, the steak. Their pork chop is good too.

Cook and Freeze for Company Meals?

I would recommend a slow cooked pork shoulder. You can make it ahead and freeze it after you have skimmed the fat from it. Add a little moisture to it and it reheats thawed from the fridge better than the original dish. We generally serve it over egg noodles, but the restaurant that gave us the recipe served it over mashed potatoes. I have heard several CH use the Idohean instant potatoes from Costco but I have never tried them. Maybe someone can confirm or you can test them out. Pair with a green salad and you'll have dinner ready before you could find the take out menus.

I've just discovered Greek yogurt!...now what do I do with it?

We used it last night on our baked potatoes. Yummy! I have also added it to cumin, cilantro, and lime zest/juice as a taco "sauce". Still a favorite is just with a spoon and whatever fruit I have.

Pizza Suggestions between Las Colinas and Lewisville

iFratelli....they generally have an online coupon if you look at their website.

Best Dallas BYOB

I haven't personally made it here yet, but you might research Urbano. I know it is BYOB and I have heard great things about it.

Also, if you are dining out on a Saturday, you might check out these pop up dinners. Chef Nicole Van Camp. You can connect on Facebook to get details. They are all BYOB and the past menus look great. There was a recent write up in a local food blog.

Have fun!

Edit: can you post back and let us know if you find any gems. I haven't found much besides neighborhood Greek or Italian.

Nice Lunch Spot in Uptown/Downtown

We also resorted to online and had it shipped...from Sonoma Artisan. I would recommend making a larger order of other items or S&H make this a VERY special night only.

best place to buy wine in DFW?

Lol!! You made my afternoon.

it was SOOO hot in Fort Worth today.....

Funny!

53rd anniversary---Artin's Grill or Mignon's?

It has been a while since I have been but I would vote for Isabella's at 121/Legacy before Mignon or Artin's. Our trip to Mignon was just okay. Artin's was good, but packed and loud and for that reason it wouldn't be my choice for an anniversary dinner. A solid choice for another time out though. Maybe someone can advise about Randy's in Frisco. I have always heard it is good, but have never made it out there.

Appetizers for someone that is handicapped and can't cook!

Not sure how confined you are, so this may be too basic, but a very easy fun appetizer is a block of cream cheese, covered with a jar of pepper jelly. Serve with crackers. If you can cook a sauce maybe you could also toast some nuts and chop for a garnish for the cheese. Spiced with cayenne or other favorites...

Casual Date Night Restaurant in Dallas

Samar is SP's Indian place, Salum is Abraham Salum's place on Cole. I love Salum but I don't put it in the casual box. I have heard Komali is more casual (abraham's new place) but I can't vouch for it myself.

What to do with lots of duck livers?

Do you live near me? My hubby and I are free for dinner. Seriously, we did a cooking class at a local place and they gave us about ten or twelve recipes for duck liver dishes, terrines, pates, seared. I can dig it up, scan, and email it to you if you are interested. Drop me a note. I will add my email to my profile.

How do you find the right kitchen designer? [moved from Not About Food]

If you live in a populated area and are planning a project(s) I think Angie's list is a decent value and a good place to start looking for resources. I used it to triangulate on research and found some good contractors that way. I wouldn't take everything at face value but sometimes it is good to see the amount of detail and what your neighbors think.

Good grits in Dallas?

I like the gorgonzola grits at Into the Glass in Grapevine. They are creamy and tangy. I recommend lunch over dinner...the place is small and I don't like to compete with the music in the evenings for conversation. I am interested to see the other suggestions!

ISO inventive ways to use up 12-15 already frozen/ripe bananas

Yum, thanks. I was planning on making a pork shoulder and shredding it for tacos/enchiladas. I might try mixing in the bananas, maybe seasoned with some chili powder and cumin to a little bit of the pork and test this theory out...Thanks!

ISO inventive ways to use up 12-15 already frozen/ripe bananas

Thanks! I am 7 1/2 months pregnant so I will have to hold onto the daiquiri and liquor motivation for a bit...The ice cream is a good possibility. I hope to see more good inspiration! Thanks for everyone's contributions. Any savory ideas?
