Some suggestions for two dining issues!

Sunday Supper at Northern Spy (East Village).
$30 3 course prix fixe. Offered in addition to the regular menu.
Only possible problem is that the SS menu isn't revealed until around 5.

CO - West Chelsea - Still great pizza

Enjoyed a delicious mid-summer "Corn" pie last week - a mixture of puréed and whole kernels, spread like a pesto over the top. That and the old favorite "Shiitake" made for a nice dinner for two.

Empellon Cocina Kitchen Table

Thanks for all of the feedback!
Based on everything I've read I think it's a go.
I'll be sure to post my thoughts afterwards.

Empellon Cocina Kitchen Table

Has anyone done the Kitchen Table tasting menu at Empellon Cocina?
We've enjoyed everything we tried at Cocina, Taqueria, and Al Pastor but I would like to know more before taking the high price plunge.

Private lunch at Salumi

My wife and I are visiting Seattle next month and want to try the private lunch at Salumi on 2/23 or 2/24. The only problem is that we're just two people and you need 8-10 to participate. Are any fellow hounds interested in joining us, or does anyone have any suggestions on how to put together a group? We'd also appreciate feedback from anyone who has done this in the past.

Buttermilk Channel?

Had a wonderful dinner there last night. Mondays they offer a prix fixe dinner for $25 that is a real bargain: starter, entree, and dessert. We had the fried chicken, which was really good and not very greasy, and also a delicious linguine dish with fresh corn and mushrooms. My only criticism is that our starters came out almost immediately after the snacks we had ordered and we still hadn't gotten our drinks. The entrees then followed almost as soon as we were done with the starters. When that was cleared we had to ask for a breather before dessert. All in all, a very good meal but not well paced.

Saturday Breakfast near Union Square Greenmarket

The best breakfast, if you don't mind spicy, is right in the Greenmarket: there is a family selling tamales, etc. that are excellent. They are operating under the radar so they don't stay in one spot for long - generally on the west side. Keep your eyes peeled and you will be rewarded!

2010 is a Great Year for Peaches at the Union Square Farmers Market

I have found Terhune to be hit or miss with their peaches. This season I have had good luck with Sycamore Farm. Their main product is corn but they also have a small quantity of peaches.
Also, Terhune is located in the NE corner of the park.
