Thanks for your reply, and no I have not identified the show.
I'm thinking it wasn't a very popular chef and could have possibly been something picked up by a network from another country such as Canada.
I'm trying to obtain a tv guide from that era, and when I do I'll update.
Keep the suggestions coming because I google image search each one.

OK thanks a lot but still isn't it. I've googled all of your suggestions including pics and video searches.
watchign what we eat book contained a lot of info but was useless in my search.
my new idea is to purchase a tvguide from the era in question 94-95 (ebay) and examine the timeslot!

I'm going to head to the library and see if they have that tv cooking book and look in there.

Anyone remember a cooking show that aired during the 90's that had an older guy cooking up mostly french dishes?
The show would always end with him having the meal with a glass of wine and a random friend guest.
That's about all I can remember. It was a very slow moving show and the guy was older.
