looking for deep fried ribs?
had a long time ago,
chinese takeout
dont know if it was ribs or other part of the pork
but it was very crisp, crunchy, not dry
no sauces
with a salty sprinkle on it, maybe it was spicy too i dont remember
hunter sausage?
hmmm... so i dont know what it was then... it was thick (at least 1 inch i think)
he fried it a little and the skin was not wrinkled, it was thin and very crisp (broke very easy with the bite), the meat looked mixed and pink/light color. definitely not dried or hard to chew
hunter sausage?
i had this at a friend in another state, i think he said its hunter sausage from a polish market
so goood salted just enough, very good flavor,
where can one find this "hunter sausage" around Queens ?
where do you buy olives?
when i drive by lake success there's Iavarone bro's, but elsewhere where you recommend for nice crips olives (i like the sicilian or any green, crip, meaty, not mushy) ?
strong flavor olive oil ?
yeah i think i looked at most of the TJ bottles, they were all very clear, filtered, no sediment
donuts?
dd? kk (which i do like....fresh out of their stores) but... thats it?
coming from LA i was used to a different donut store on every block, but here in NY its a different bagel on every block...
dd donuts suck imho
is there a different donut to be had around NYC?
strong flavor olive oil ?
I recently found a strong flavored olive oil - Iliada kalamata olive oil which is flavorful and close to eating sicilian olives, i also got a Partana sicilian extravirgin olive oil which is like half flavor than the Iliada
was looking at Traderjoes' but nothing looked inspiring, cheap but still.
any suggestions for something strong/stronger, in a store around NYC ?
want some Paella with crust
topic says it :D
been to 3 places already: via brasil (in pan but no crust), pio pio (in plate no crust but really good flavor i liked) and another i forget.
Why Tama sushi, not Ike, not Urasawa, not Matsuhisa, is best
i dont give a crap who buys the fish where as long as its fresh and free of disease.
but, if i dont get good food at the first visit WHY COME BACK? i dont care if its iron sushi chef 50000000+1, i'm taking my bucks elsewhere.
Best bao in LA
yes i want to try them, but i keep arriving when they're all out of stock! ...
Fauchon Tea
their description is also vague 'yunnan and a darjeeling'
well, that pretty much means china and india
its probably more of a brand marketing than actual quality marketing.
Best bao in LA
went to Won Kok, had the steamed pork bao - it had a very fluffy breading. the filling while nice in texture, tasted like some sort of mexican sauce chinese meat. :P
Best Tea in Los Angeles
looking at the menu , seems to have the regular crap = not good, real teas.
good thing theyre organic otherwise price might be lower...
Best bao in LA
hmmm, i thought all 'bao' is the same... :P
i only had the steamed/baked? 'fluffy' with the sweet pork inside. (went to restaurant , said: i want the bao, they brought out these)
Best bao in LA
fresh bao, not from yesterday
or maybe another version if you know of(korean etc)
(downtown / chinatown/ hollywood) no monterey parks...
where?
Embracing Burbank
Tallyrand- good chicken club
Wok of 'shame' - crappy chinese, soup is 9/10 water 1/10 meat
Frontier wok - horrible chowmein (noodles soaked in soy sauce)
Great wok @ Olive x Victory - pretty good chowmein (tho small -to me- in the lunch takeout box for 6$)
chinese buffet @ san fernando x delaware (next to kmart): lunch buffet was cheap ~7?, food was ok-not bad for the money.
topic font is too large!
, can you turn it down to 12?
it would also fit more topics on a page
its hard to scan the topics at 2ft from monitor
