best burgers in T.O.

Perhaps you both should read a few more reviews, or actually try the place yourself! I recently tried both Johnny's and the Real McCoy. Big Boy beats Johnny's hands down. The Real McCoy and Big Boy are close, but Big Boy's wins on the fries! The buns are definitely not Dempsters!

Have to put a vote in for Big Boy Burgers! They have two locations - one in Pickering and one in Scarborough! Outstanding burgers including a bun that does not look like it came out of a Dempsters bag and out of this world fresh cut fries. Their menu looked great and I only wished I could have tried a few things on it! Next time maybe! The prices were extremely reasonable too!

Ribfests- opinions?

Not sure what your definition of cheap is, but $22.00 for a rack of side ribs is a little pricey to me. You can get a rib dinner, complete with sides, for less at many restaurants.

What was your favourite restaurant that went downhill after they solidified their status

Canyon Creek in Scarborough has gone way downhill. I was there a few weeks ago and tried their baked potato soup. It was served lukewarm. I had one of their lobsterlust meals - a steak topped with lobster and while the steak was hot, the lobster topping was stone cold! Yuk! The frozen fries served with their rib dinner are not too appealing either.

Ribfests- opinions?

According to their Website, there will not be a Markham Ribfest in 2010.

When Licks first opened, their burgers were freshly made at each location - never frozen. After expanding and franchising, they eventually went to frozen, preformed burgers and I agree, they have never been the same since!

Review – Little Bavaria Restaurant - German Food in Scarborough

Used to be one of my favourite places but it has gone down hill in the past year or so. I think it is under new ownership and definitely not as good as it was a few years ago!

Scarborough Lunch Options Markham/Finch

Actually, Tapps does a very good business. I go there frequently and the food is usually very good for the price!

Homestyle Italian in TO ? looking for new ideas

Actually, the original Vincent's Spot was owned by Vincent. He sold a place he had on Bayview called Vincent's Place to open Vincent's Spot on Kingston Road. Vincent did the waiting while his wife did the cooking. Vincent also did a lot of the artwork, some of which may still be there, but much of which has been removed by the current owners. I can't remember how long Vincent was there, but the current owners have been there a long time. The original Vincent sold out to the current owners and moved to San Francisco to open a restaurant there. Vincent's Spot has remained largely the same and still a great place for a meal!

I doubt if anyone could find a better Burger than at T-Bones in Scarborough. For $4.99 you get an 8 oz. homemade sirloin burger which, when loaded, you can hardly get your hands around let alone your mouth and a fresh order of homemade fries cooked to perfection! You cannot go wrong with their steak dinners either!

The Best Ribs in Toronto

To be perfectly honest, Ribfests this year have been a big disappointment. They are overpriced with prices rising to $22.00 a rack. I have been to Pickering, Scarborough, Markham, and Cobourg and have had burnt ribs, dried out ribs, tough ribs, ribs with too much sauce, and ribs with not enough sauce. I know people go for the "party" but if you really want some good ribs and are in the Whitby area, why not try Buster Rhinos!

Buster Rhino's Authentic Southern BBQ - Whitby

My first visit to Buster's and was very impressed. We bought the vacuum pack ribs to bring home and they were just excellent. Who needs Ribfests when you can go to Buster Rhinos - unless of course Buster's is one the ribbers!

Ribfest 2009 season - anyone been?

Went back again yesterday and Crabby's should be renamed Crappy's - they were terrible. Also tried the chip things from the place selling Bloomin onions and they were disgustingly bad! What a disappointment this year! Beer was good though!

Ribfest 2009 season - anyone been?

Just came from there! Ribs from Tennessee Fatbacks were the worst I have ever had at any Ribfest anywhere - ever! They were tough, chewy and fatty with almost no sauce!
