Santa Fe Burger Update

Add 5 Star Burgers to your list (Taos & Albuquerque as well as Santa Fe). Their beef is from Harris Ranch in Fresno, CA and is VERY good.

Best bar food in Santa Fe.

Try the bars at either Del Charro or the Shed. Both are enjoyable and have good libation choices.

The Cowgirl is a hoot, but may have limited wine selections.

Turquoise Trail recommendations anyone?

The San Marcos Cafe just South of Santa Fe is great for breakfast - totally different atmosphere than the Horseman's Haven which is a traditional busy street restaurant.

Denver Restaurant/Bar Recommendations May 23-27 for Bachelor Party

Check out the Bull & Bush Pub (www.bullandbush.com) on Cherry Creek Road east of Colorado. Great fun place for a bachelor party right in Cherry Creek.

Other restaurants you should check out are The Fort (www.thefort.com) in Morrison and Steubens (www.steubens.com) on 17th in the Uptown area. Both are great.

Enjoy!!

Denver Dining/LodgingRecommendations July 27-29 for Anniversary

For dining, definitely go to the Fort in Morrison (www.thefort,com) for the food and the experience.

For accommodations, we normally try to avoid central city and stay the Best Western Southwest on South Wadsworth.

Enjoy your trip!!

Southwest Road Trip - Off-the-beaten-path Chow Suggestions?

We have 2 outstanding BBQ restaurants in New Mexico. Both are in interesting parts of our state.

SPARKY'S in Hatch, NM. Website www.sparkysburgers.com. Hatch is the Chile capital of the world and is about an hour north of Las Cruces. Pretty area. Worth a trip from anywhere.

SUGARS in Embudo, NM. No website. Embudo is about an hour north of Santa Fe. on the road to Taos. Another pretty area, well worth the trip.

While in New Mexico, try a Green Chile Cheeseburger. A local favorite throughout the state made famous by two restaurants in San Antonio, NM - the OWL and the BUCKHORN. San Antonio is just south of Socorro.

Check out www.nmgastronome for reviews of these restaurants and many others,

Farther south, Sparky's in Hatch is outstanding - try the BBQ Sandwich or the Green Chile Cheesburger

And when you get to Silver City, the Duck Fried Potatoes at Isaac's are a must!!

Have a great trip!!

Driving from RI to OR, regional food recommendations?

Hi,

You're probably on the road by now - hope you are enjoying your trip. My wife and I are born & bred Rhode Islanders, now living in Taos, NM. Like you, we enjoy shunpiking and seeing the real America.

Don't know which routes you are taking,so have no specific restaurant recommendations.

However, when you get to the South Dakota area, have a buffalo (bison) burger at any local restaurant. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Recommendations for Albuquerque?

My wife and I are from Rhode Island; now living in Taos.

Always great to have New Englanders here in NM. Did you know that New Mexico is bigger than all of New England?

Many great restaurants in Albuquerque. We particularly enjoy Chama River Brewing on the Pan American Highway just west of Interstate 25. Great food and brews in a comfortable setting. www.chamariverbrewing.com.

Also check our www.nmgastronome for comprehensive restaurant reviews.

Enjoy New Mexico - it is the Land of Enchantment
