Anyone know where they hide on Saturday or Sunday?

Harris Teeter in Locust Point

Agree completely Vidute! It is not near me, but is near my church, so I go Sundays and have been extremely impressed by everything in the store.

Whetstone Grill Locust Point

Has anyone been?

Niwana in Charles Village

Looking for something new, I bought a coupon last month for Niwana, on 33rd between Charles and St. Paul. Went today for lunch with a friend and was pleasantly suprised, Lovely dining room, full bar plus sushi bar. Since there were only 2 of us we didn't get to try much, but what we had was delicious. I had a cucumber salad which was dressed in a very light vinagary wasabi mayonaise. I could have licked the bowl the dressing was so good. I had a rainbow roll which was very fresh and yumnmy, 8 large pieces. My friend had a seafood and scallion pancake, which was overlapping the plate. It was FULL of octopus, shrimp, fish and scallion, and was served with a great soy/sesame sauce. My friend will have enough for another lunch and/or dinner. Then we ordered age tofu, which came out crisp and golden, in another tasty sauce. With a draft and a cocktail, and the coupon, we paid 8 bucks each. I've only found one other comment on this board, and think the poster might want to try again! The prices were good...next time I will try the Korean side. Much better than driving out to Ellicott City!

Dreamfield's Lasagna noodles?

Thanks hon...and Jon...you haven't been to Harris Teeter yet....and it's right in your old hood!

Dreamfield's Lasagna noodles?

Thanks!

Dreamfield's Lasagna noodles?

Has anyone seen these in the Baltimore area? I see all other kinds, but not the lasagna...

Corned Beef Hash

Clementine on Harford Road used to have it, but check before you go.

Polock Johnny's closing at Lexington Market

For those of us chowhounders who made the Lexington Market Crawl 2 years ago, it will come as sad news that Polock Johnny's last day there is Saturday. They will still keep their other locations on Washington Boulevard and the Security Square Mall, but this is a sad thing for the Market after 44 years there!

Tooloulou-Pizza Coming to Harford Road

That's great news....but not so about Clementine. I usually go for Sunday brunch and will make a point of it this week. Did they do much damage??

Anyone been to Duda's in Fell's Point recently?

I haven't been in a month or two, but IMO it's always good...especially the crabcakes, burgers, wings and mussels...and of course, the beer.

Rosemary ham/Proscuitto

Ditto Trader Joe's...saw it this morning.

Miss Shirley's - worth it?

I didn't know there was a Joe Squared in Power Plant...only on North Avenue...

Baltimore next Friday (9/16) - Best food we can find?

With 3 courses at $76.00, I think Charleston would be way out of the OP's price range, and although I LOVE the Prime Rib, it tpo is much more than 25-30 per meal...
I third GG...and picking crabs would be casual fun for out-of-towners...

Lunch in Baltimore - Great crab cakes?

Yep...Dudas or Captain Larry's...

Best "cheap" gin?

Gordons....absolutely. Here in Baltimore, you can sometimes get it for $10.99 for 1.75...

Best Fish Monger in Baltimore?

Cross Street...best fish in Baltimore.

Lunch and/or Dinner in Fells Point

It never gets the love here, but I really like John Steven...they have excellent mussels and steamed shrimp, and I've had great burgers there too...Plus, Resurrection Ale...

Restaurant Week-August 2011

I have a reservation at The Prime Rib...never been there and really looking forward to it!

Baby shower venue

Does anyone know of a hall or room that one can rent for a baby shower...must be able to bring your own food, preferably in Baltimore County? Most restaurants my friend has tried insist on catering the event...

tortilleria sinaloa Fells Point

Also, make sure you take an extra two bucks to buy a kilo of fresh made corn tortillas!!!

Tandoor House of Kabob-Taylor Ave (Parkville)

I stopped by last Saturday for a lamb gyro, but they were out. spoke to the owner for a while...I was greeted so wonderfully when I walked in. I stopped back today and got the gyro to go. It was the length of my elbow to fingers...amazing for 7 bucks and change. Got it home and it was delicious...probably the best I have ever had. It had a wonderful sauce, red onion and lettuce and the lamb was extremely tasty. I could only eat a third of it and ate just a tiny bit of the naan (being carb conscious lately) and it was soft and lovely. I highly recommend...I will be back for the kabobs. PS. The place is spotless inside with lovely damask tablecloths covered with glass and seating for about 25.

ISO Guinea Pig, South American Style

they used to serve it at El Riconcito Peruviano (I"m sure I'm spelling it wrong) on S. Ann Street, but sadly they're out of business....

Duda's in Fells Point

Ditto Jon...love it., and the people are great! As is the Resurrection! I might just go on Saturday!
