Wild Cherry Yogurt Shop- Chinatown Went to Wild Cherry yesterday during their grand opening. Its a self service yogurt shop where you pull your own flavors and scoop your own toppings. They offered me a sample of any flavor. I ended up getting very small pulls of the pineapple, dulce de leche, and original tart flavors. The pineapple was the standout! They gave out a reward card to lead up to a free cup. There is only one size cup to put everything into. I would have liked to have seen at least 2 sizes to choose from, as my small pulls look silly in the quite large cup. The toppings bar offered fresh fruit ( kiwi, banana, avocado), canned fruit ( longan, lychee), couple flavors of bubbles, traditional candy toppings, ( reeses, m&ms, etc) and much more. There is limited seating. Glad this is near my work, can't wait to go again especially in the hot weather. |

Burrito Express- Bedfordt St Boston I walked by last Friday and the windows were papered over. Does anyone know if they are renovating or a new restaurant is going in? |

Sa Pa Vietnamese - Anyone been? Went last week. The bun was tasty, had the shredded beef with it. Very juicy and tender. I thought the pho was bland and I agree it was on the sweet side. I will continue to go to the pho joints for the real deal. I will probably go for the bahn mi and bun here. |

We loved this in Thailand and brought a couple bottles back, which have since been depleted. Would be great to give for Christmas! Anyone seen it recently, willing to drive to get it! |

There are many many types of poke. Sesame poke is pretty popular, but shouldn't drown out the fresh fish. |

Thanks for all the suggestions! The closest thing to laulau, plate lunch etc, guess will have to be a trip to Connecticut and New York. Can't wait try out the local suggestions. I bough Sam Choys Poke cookbook and will make my own poke. :) |

Best of Brookline - 2011 Edition For pizza I like Pizzeria Dante. Try Stoli in Brookline Village for tasty Russian food & house infused vodkas. I second all the other suggestions too, esp Darbar, dok bua, Anna's Taqueria, super fusion, gari, zaftigs, Sichuan Garden, Bottegga.......whats Cambridge??? :P |

Try Baza in Newton behind Filenes Basement off Highland Ave. Its a Russian supermarket and they have a few types of caviar and lots of roe. Their smoked fish & pickles are excellent too btw! |

I can't really imagine kids here on a weekend night, maybe for lunch or dinner on a weeknight. I would say this is a reasonably priced gastropub & pretty delicious too! |

Went on Friday. I got the mussels, which were plump, sweet and perfectly cooked. Lots of beers to choose from the wall display on both sides of the bar ( both different) and a great tap selection from PBR to Chimay. They do not have a printed listed list of beers yet. When asked they hope to in the future. They do have to keep running downstairs to get some of the beers, and at one point the glass that had come fresh out of the dishwasher seemed to have strong chemical smell still even after the Whales Tail sat in it for a bit. So far only minor kinks to work out. Bartender and one of the owners took time to chat and do their connecting with the locals. A good fit for what West Roxbury was lacking, a small neighborhood "bistro style" bar, with cozy atmosphere and a much more interesting beer selection than other WR bars. |

Outdoor food/drinks in Newton and environs? Sol Azteca and Union Street both have patios. Both restaurants are in Newton Center. |

Juice Bars in the Boston Area? I would go to the Juice Bar in China town, the watermelon juice is really good. I usually go for the avocado shakes. As has been stated already, there aren't veg/juice blends. They have a large menu, of milkshakes, tea shakes, and juices. Also, there is Lollicup on Comm ave in the Super 88 food court. They are yummy with a large menu as well. ----- |

I need powdered citric acid - any help out there? Try Super 88 or the Hmart in Burlington. |

Had the grilled Caesar salad @ Washington Square Tavern and LOVED it. The charred bits of the lettuce were delicious. Does anyone know of other grilled romaine salads in boston and surrounding areas? ----- |

I know of Blood Farm, but don't know if other people have had luck with other farms, butchers or wholesalers in the purchasing of a whole pig. |

Good latin (super)market in greater Boston area? Chelsea Market Basket has many Latin items, but it is not a latin market, and may not be the most convenient from Newton. Americas Food Basket, HI lo in JP are entire Latin Super Markets, where every aisle contains Latin items. I'm a fan of Market Basket but not if I am looking for the huge Latin market like PKirchoff is asking for. |
