Rocklands BBQ in Arlington has them too....but might as well go to the Italian store and get a sub too. heh.

ChiDogO's? Anyone been yet?
It's on U and 14th. I liked the Chicago hotdogs a lot but found the beef in the Italian beef sandwiches to be a bit dry. I liked the hot peppers in the beef sandwich though. The fries looked good but I didn't try them.

Suggestions for soul food in the DC area?
Oohs and Aahs on U street, and Flavors in Baylies Xroads (for fried chicken and fish).

Soul Food
Flavors and Oohs and Aahs. Also, whats that upscale southern place in old town alexandria with a number at the end of the name? It's good too.
Anything that's not to be missed at Mitsitam Cafe in the Native American Museum?
I've enjoyed the steak they cook open-flame. And the whitefish salad sandwich. Check and see what the sampler (2 entrees, and 3 sides for $25) is composed of. see what fry-breads they have.
Restaurant Patio/Tea Suggestions
Ack, thats probably about how many people Natalia's Elegant Creations in Falls Church can hold total, but they do high tea...and maybe she can let you guys have the place for a private event. not sure.
I wrote about them on dcfud.com at some point.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5V_z9f5shE
For Mexican tacos: Taqueria el charrito caminante in arlington, or Taqueria distrito federal,or Taqueria National (lunch only i think) in DC.

upscale restaurant help in GT
My boss wants a recommendation for a good restaurant within 3 blocks of the georgetown 4 seasons. he wanted to do La Chaumiere but it isn't open sundays. Something comparable to that in price would be fine. He thinks Citronelle would be too expensive. It doens't have to be french.
and...let me know how much it costs.
I need to keep on-topic on this one...since it has to match what he asked for.
Thanks,
-Jason
Burrito/Taco Stand in DC or MD area
I agree with the teeny storefront, TECC. Also, the taco place in columbia hts, taqueria distrito federal is good.
as fara s stands, pedro and vinny's (pedroandvinnys.com) at 15th and K is great, veegtarian, and has many wrap and hot sauce options. check website to see when it is open. Carlos' taco stand at 17th and K is good too. i wrote about both on dcfud.com, http://dcfud.smorgasblog.com/archives/003087.html.

I hear one of the bubble chains is coming to arlington but havent heard anythign lately. There are some decent options in Eden Center but the 2 MD places listed above are better, especially Tenren. I don't like Maria's.
Bad bubble tea at Tivoli at Ballston Mall. :)
good places for martinis in DC?
Bensherman,
If the request was for me...I'd own up to it. :) The request was for a coworker who said she missed some place in NYC where she used to get the stuff...and I gave her the Matchox reccomendation...at the point where I thanked you guys. Any additional discussion isn't actually getting to her.
good places for martinis in DC?
Thanks guys. I'll give her the Matchbox rec. I can't make a TGIF rec...I just can't. :)
good places for martinis in DC?

General feedback on DC food experiences
Another good thing about the scene here is the bargain Happy Hours and daily specials. Some examples: Cafe Asia's $1 a piece sushi happy hour m-f until 730pm, Whitlows 1/2 price burgers mondays, wingnight (30c a wing) at Hard Times Cafe Wedesdays, wing night (25c a wing) and $2.50 beers Mondays at Rockbottom. I've written about the Arlington options: http://dcfud.smorgasblog.com/archives/002881.html
General feedback on DC food experiences
Anyway...I'm from NYC...and have had better Ethiopian, Burmese, and Vietnamese food in the DC area. I've had some great tacos here too.
I would love a good metro rail accessible bubble tea chain in Dc or VA. I would like bakeries on the level of Magnolia or Butter cup here (Southern style, and good, including cupcakes). I would love an Argentine bakery....like those in Queens.
While I like the italian store (not metro access, and doesnt really have seating) and Roma (Ballston)...more good by the slice pizzarias with seating would be nice. Better bbq and kosher-style places would be nice, metro accessible.
Burrito/Taco Stand in DC or MD area
I am a fan of Taqueria El Charrito Caminante in Arlington and Taqueria Distrito Federal in Columbia Heights. Both have goat tacos, chorizo tacos, etc... TECC does have pupusas since most DC area mexican places do seem to cator to the huge Salvadorean population. Distrito Federal does not have pupusas. TECC has no tables, but two counters and some stools, while Distrito has a few tables as well as counters and stools.
Sushi on the conveyor belt
DCFUD (Zoe, the editor) wrote an article about Wasabi: http://dcfud.smorgasblog.com/archives/002800.html
