Anything from Russ and Daughters, runny cheeses, crusty bread, poached eggs, caldo verde, pho, smoked brisket.
My top 5 favorite restaurants:
in CT... Pho 501. Bricco. Grants. O'Rourkes. Sarapes. Mamoun's. Scott's lobster dock. Harry's burgers. For pizza Pepes, Rossini's in East Hampton (grew up on the stuff mmmm) Not a restaurant but an honerable mention: Cato Corner cheese. In NYC... Sripraphai. Russ and Daughters. Brasserie 292 in upstate NY. Centerville pies on the cape. Outside of that- Amsterdam Falafel- make sure you squish your balls- its on their sign! (DC)
