I actually can't see them going to the Westfield SF mall. for some reason, it looks out of place.

I never knew that they're were so many DTFs in the US. I only thought they had two.

Din tai Fung comes to Bay Area

@Kirk-thanks. They also talk about how many branches they have in the US. I only thought they had one in the LA area and one in Washington state but the article states they have multiple branches in those locations. Again, its translated by my mom.

I can get the article and send it to you, Melanie, or to anyone else. It may be a photo of it though.

Din tai Fung comes to Bay Area

It was in todays Sing Tao paper which my mom translated and she confirmed it was DTF.

Din tai Fung comes to Bay Area

It appears that DTF will come to Santa Clara's Westfield Valley Mall in October. It will seat about 200 people.

Crystal Jade [San Francisco]

They are on track to open in November of this year. They had numerous issues with permits but now it appears things will go smooth.

Staff is being hired now.

Good Sushi in Japantown? [San Francisco]

Fuku Sushi I think is the best one there

Roast Goose

Thanks!

Roast Goose

Anyone here know where to get Roast Goose in the city besides Chinatown? I know in some of the older posts that Happy Bakery and Deli has it but they are closed for remodeling.

Chinese restaurant with private room ?? [San Francisco]

Fareast Café on Grant Avenue.

Best of Chinatown restaurants [San Francisco]

I think most of the newer and better Chinese restaurants are now outside of the city.

Only two days in SF for the first time! How to choose???

Another vote for AQ. Try Ebisu in the Sunset district for sushi

best fresh fish?

Try Scoma's. They have great fresh fish daily.

Best of Chinatown restaurants [San Francisco]

Thanks for the correction. For the life of me I couldn't remember the streets.

Recommended Chinese restaurants on Clement St [San Francisco]

Yes, China First is a great place to eat. My folks believe its one of the better places on Clement to eat.

Best of Chinatown restaurants [San Francisco]

There's a small restaurant on Stockton and Powell called Kam Po. Its a place where they serve won ton noodles, rcie plates and BBQ meats. Its not he best but the food is good and prices very decent.

SF Reservations made... now what to eat?!

How about House of Prime Rib?

Rehearsal dinner in SF -- more than 100 people

A fun place would be Buca di Beppo

Crystal Jade [San Francisco]

Are you talking about the city ordinance on chain stores? If so, I believe that part of town in exempt.

Crystal Jade [San Francisco]

DTF chose Seattle over the Bay Area?

Crystal Jade [San Francisco]

Why is that? I think all their concepts are pretty good.

Crystal Jade [San Francisco]

The SF chronicle comments are like that.

Best dinner places for Chicago

Thanks. You're right I shouldn't have added "best" in the title as that's pretty subjective.

Chicago Cut and DB Primehouse are on the list!

Best dinner places for Chicago

I know that there are some threads on this topic but I didn't want to hijack any of them.

I'm going to be at a conference in August for a week and will be staying near the McCormick Center (that's where our convention will be).

Looking for some great steakhouses and pizza places and everything else in between.

Thanks!!!

5 Days in SF/Napa

Chinatown-Great Eastern is good for dinner.

North Beach-I'd go to Original Joes. Fun and vibrant place but sorta not your regular NB place. House is another place in NB that serves very good food but its fusion.

Mission-Try Limon-they're chicken is the best.

Visitors from Toronto looking for a great meal near Union Square

I would go to Sears Fine Foods for breakfast then BurgerBar in Macys for lunch. If you must stay in the area for dinner then I'd recommend Lark Creek or MY Chinain the Westfield Mall. If not try House of Prime Rib on Van Ness.
