Morgans on Danforth
We have made this our new local. Love the charcuterie board (no matter how passe they may be these days), calamari's good, great sauce with the mussels, and the beer selection is what also keeps us coming back. Always look forward to trying something new on the menu with each visit.
Excellent attentive staff - Anthony (Tony), Victoria (Tori) and Kelly. Have only seen the owner in there a couple of times and he was usually leaving for the night, so no faux pas with hygiene noticed.
So glad they've brought it up a notch from Taps & Tales. Some seriously seedy dudes in there before!
Toronto's Best Fried Chicken
Went to the Cajun Bajan last weekend for some chicken & ribs and it was CLOSED! It's all papered over and there's some diner 'opening soon' in it's place.
Very sad. If anyone knows if they've relocated, please let the 'hounders know!

Anything you suggest at DNA?
I agree with CookEatSleep, the sweetbreads are to die for, but I can also atest to what finefoodie55 said about great lapses between courses.
Talk to the sommelier, he is very knowledgeable about Canadian wines. We shared a laugh talking about going to Daniel Lenko's 'winery'.
Amsterdam's Jordaan Neighborhood
We had a great dinner at De Belhamel 2 years ago. It's hard not to when the surroundings are so beautiful! Perhaps it's time for another visit...we're arriving in town next week for a couple of days.
All we have booked is our fianl night dinner at De Kas, so I think we'll take some of dutchgrub's other suggestions as well.
Thanks!
Last night in Paris
We've snagged reservations for our upcoming first trip to Paris (thanks to the many Chowhounders who regularly post, especially John Talbott & souphie!) to the following:
La Tourbillon, L'Ambassade d'Auvergne, Restaurant Drouant, Le Christine, L'Ami Jean & Les Violons d'Ingres.
Where shall we go to complete our trip? It is also Nuit Blanche that night, perhaps we should just wander?
We look forward to your suggestions!
2009 closings
The owners intend on reopening but are currently in insurance hell. Here's hoping they get it sorted soon!
Ottawa - which of these restaurants would you choose?
Whalesbone for sure! Great staff, vibe and food. The staff really supports other restos as well. Once we were there sitting beside a staff member from Absinthe & the Whalesbone server made a point of telling us to check out his place as well. For an absolute knockout of a dinner, try Atelier. I still have the signed menu to remind me of what a great, unique dinner we had there in May.

Need a lunch suggestion near Queen and Bathurst
I would definitely second Tutti Matti. Have been going there for years.
Port Stanley options?
Staying at the Windjammer Inn next weekend for my husband's birthday, so dinner is sorted for one night but interested in other places in & around the area for good eats/drinks.
Danforth Gems
Had some last night as a matter of fact! Tom Yum soup, Assam Pork, Glass Noodles w/Chicken were so-so, mustard greens always delish in garlic sauce. Hope that helps!
Danforth Gems
Love the Globe (and their rooftop patio), the Auld Spot for a quick bite & most of the food at the Court Jester pub but, go further East young Danforthite!
At Melanie's Bistro the food is always consistent, reasonably priced and delicious. As well, Relish Bar & Grill is a neighbourhood godsend for us. Basil Thai Kitchen has some Malay & Burmese dishes that I also love.
Happy Hunting!
