Student group in Santiago and Valparaiso! Hi! I'm leading a group of college students on a two week trip to Santiago and Valparaiso (we leave tomorrow!!!). Since we're college students, our budgets are limited, but good food is obviously a priority. :) I've never been to either city before (or Chile at all, for that matter), so if you have any specific restaurant/cafe recs or general recs (types of street food, great drinks, etc...), please let me know! Thanks in advance!!! |

Modernleifeng: We would be okay to "splurge," I just mean that as a student, to "splurge" is all relative, so maybe up to 100-120 RMB a person, but not dollars. Also, we've all had duck meals before in Beijing, so do you have any other suggestions for relatively nice restaurants that don't focus on roasted duck? Thanks in advance!!! |

Hey! I'm a student who has spent the summer studying Chinese in Harbin (northeastern China). We head back to Beijing this weekend before flying out on Monday. Other than Dongbei specialties, Harbin has been lacking, so we're looking for some great food (moderately priced) for our last night in China. Any suggestions for fun and reasonably priced places in Beijing? And after 2 months here, we'll take recs for ANY type of restaurant! Thanks! |

Hey! I'm going this Saturday to EMP for the first time for my birthday. I'm trying to determine which tasting menu to go with or whether to go for the 3-course meal. Right now I'm leaning towards the summer menu. Has anyone tried the summer 2010 7-course tasting menu? If so, what did you think and would it be worth it to go with that menu? Thanks! |

Great Tasting Menu for Celebration The dinner is not until early June, so hopefully reservations can be made at most places. Also, wine pairings are not really important, so I was not thinking of including wine in the $150... |

Great Tasting Menu for Celebration Hi all! I am looking for a restaurant with a great tasting menu in Manhattan. This is for a celebratory dinner and there will only be 4-5 people there and we are looking to spend no more than about $150/person. We're pretty adventurous, so all types of foods are great! Thanks! |

Student in Bloomsbury-Cheap Eats Hey- I am a student interning as a chef this summer in Bloomsbury area. I am looking for cheap eats for dinner especially. Can be anywhere in Zone 1, though walking distance is preferable. I love all types of foods and am a very adventurous eater! Also, if you know of any foodie places (I have been to Books for Cooks and Borough Market), I would greatly appreciate recommendations! Thanks |
