Best burger I've had in Toronto, hands down.
The fries are quite tasty - if you prefer a more shoestring-like fry. They were served hot and salted perfectly.
I really wanted to like GBK, but my overall food/experience was pretty lousy.
I look forward to hear other CHers thoughts on this place. I am thrilled this place opened in our nabe.
We do take out regularly - the pizza is cooked so quickly , there is no need to call ahead. I've never waited more than a few minutes. Also guarantees that the pie is super hot.
To elaborate on Herb's reply, they stay open all day ( no closing between lunch and dinner ) on the weekends if you may want an afternoon snack or early dinner.
I am looking for those simple tea sandwiches with good tuna and egg salads; specifically I need a platter to pick up and accomodate about 30 people.
I read in TO Life about Lesley's party sandwiches, but it is all the way up in Thornhill.
I was thinking of What a Bagel or Pusateri's?
Any recs? We live in Leslieville.
Thanks in Advance!
What A Bagel
I am looking for fresh fish; specifically, salmon. Kristapsons does great smoked stuff, but there seems to be nothing else nearby but mediocre grocery store seafood counters. Is St Lawrence Market the only nearby choice for fresh fish? Anything worthwile on the Danforth?
TY for any recs!
We went to Ceili Cottage last week and noshed on some yummy Ontario peanuts; they were smaller and more tasty than the average grocery store peanut. I had no idea that peanuts are locally grown.
Can anyone recommend where I can find some? Specifically, shelled, salted roasted peanuts?
