Victoria Day Restaurant Closings?

Hi Everyone,

My family and I will be visiting Montreal during the Victoria Day weekend, Saturday - Tuesday. I had originally made reservations at Park Restaurant on the 20th through OpenTable. The restaurant called me back today letting me know that they are actually closed on the 20th due to the holiday. So, I was wondering are most restaurants going to be closed on the 20th? Will it be slim pickings for us to find something good to eat?

We have reservations at Au Pied to Cochon on the 19th and now hoping I can change our Park Reservations to Saturday, the 18th. Any suggestions for what may be open on the 20th?

PS. We are traveling with a 3 year-old. He is well behaved in restaurants and we are molding him into a foodie :)

Thanks for any advice you can provide.

Date Night Suggestions?

Hi everyone,

My husband, 1 year old son and I will be be traveling in your part of the world in a week's time - We're from Washington, DC. We are spending 4 nights in Vancouver and are getting a babysitter (yeah!!) one evening, so that we can enjoy a nice dinner out. We want to have an awesome omakase meal and have narrowed it down to Sushi Kamura, Octopus Garden (they do an omakase, right? I didn't see anything on their website but think i read it online here that they do) and Tojo's (I know, i know...tons of mixed reviews from you guys). Looking to be wowed and an opportunity to try new seafood that we don't get on the east coast. If you have any other suggestions that would be great too.

Thank you!

Please help an overwhelmed mom with restaurant recs!

Hi everyone - My husband, 1 year old son and I will be on holiday in Seattle for three evenings in July. We plan on getting a babysitter one or maybe even two nights, so we can enjoy a really nice this point price is not of concern...but an outstanding meal is! I'm utterly overwhelmed by all the outstanding restaurant choices that Seattle had to offer! For one evening, we'd like something along the lines of an amazing tasting menu. For the other evening, we'd like to dine at the best sushi joint that you guys could recommend. We are adventurous eaters and love unusual food.

I was also wondering if you could recommend any places for lunch that would be appropriate to take our young child...we don't want to end up at an awful chain restaurant. Do any of the higher end/top restaurants in Seattle offer a lunch option that we could bring our son too? He is mostly well behaved if there is good in front of him!

Thanks for any help you could provide!

Brunch/Lunch for locally sourced food?

Hi - will be visiting Boston in a few weeks time for a friends wedding. I will be staying at the Hotel Nine Zero and will not have a car - so I am looking at public transportation to get around for the weekend and I am not overly familiar with all the different neighborhoods.

The only day I will have free is Sunday - so, I'm looking for an excellent Brunch or Lunch place that uses locally sourced foods or sustainable practices.

Also, are there any food markets, farmers markets, etc that are worth a visit on a Sunday morning or afternoon?

Thanks for any help you can provide!
