Cheesesteaks in DC? Any suggestions?
I just had a 'build your own' from JJ's. Very very good. I got the cheese steak with L/T/sautéed onions, turkey bacon, black olives, provolone, and hot sauce. Was fairly busy for 2pm. Did not try the fries, however they looked delicious.

BBQ Ribs - Where to eat
A bit of a hike from DC, but if ever near Ocean City grab JR's ribs. They have a great deal for early dinner - half rack and half chicken w/2 sides for $13 or something near that. Best ribs I've had...the BBQ sauce is delicious.
Chicken and Waffles
If it's nice out, go to Tabaq Bistro on U Street. they have a popular chicken and waffles dish at brunch and an amazing rooftop to boot. I've never had them, but they looked delicious.
Hard ice cream in NoVA?
I agree with the lack of 'hard ice cream' offerings in the area, however it gives you a chance to try some new places! I'm not a huge froyo guy myself (Perry's Ice Cream from NY is my style), but I would check out Larry's Ice Cream in Dupont Circle on Conn Ave or Thomas Sweet....not quite in Northern VA I know. If Dairy Godmother isnt your style, you can try Pop's or Scoops on King Sreet in Old Town. Both do the job.

Need Help: Peruvian Chicken in DC Area
Just had Sabroso today. It was good, but no where near c on the run or super pollo in my opinion. I got the 1/4 breast, and it was fairly small. I usually like to get rice/beans with my chicken and was surprised they charge extra for beans. total cost for the 1/4 breast & rice/beans was $7.

Need Help: Peruvian Chicken in DC Area
What are the hidden Peruvian Gems in MD/DC/VA? I've had the Super Pollo, El Pollo Rico, Chicken on the Run, Pio Pio, El Pullito's (well I didnt eat it, they ran out of chicken) of the world, but what are the hidden gems? I could use your help as I put together a Guide to Peruvian Chicken (see pizza guide for example: http://www.myilive.com/dc/guides/pizza), and I'm bound to miss some places.
I can even reference your picture & description if you're inclined to help? I personally give the edge to C on the Run.
Best Pizza in DC Metro Area
To see pictures and descriptions of 60+ pizza places around DC, check this guide out: www.myilive.com/dc/guides/pizza.
Personally, for NY Style I recommend Corner Slice in Bethesda, Valentinos in Alexandria, Vace in Cleveland Park, or Tony's in Fairfax.
Pizza Guide in DC/Ballston Pizza Cart?
have to agree on Vapianos, love the pastas and salads, pizza is inconsistent - I've noticed especially in amt of cheese.
I still have to eat Potenza for the list, any thoughts? How about Paparazzi in Gtown? Never been myself, but was told they have good pizza too?

Mia's was very good actually, the meatballs were especially tasty. I think they would be right up your alley, it reminded me a lot of Red Rocks with a sweeter sauce, thiner crust.
Have you had Moroni Bros?
Pizza Guide in DC/Ballston Pizza Cart?
Full Disclosure - I'm the guy who ate all of the pizza! Since I would fall across many chowhound threads about the various pizza places here, I thought many of you would enjoy the outcome after eating quite possibly every pizza in the DC area (I think). I agree with many of you that some of the well known places (2 Amys, Vace, Pete's etc) are tasty, but I think some are being overlooked. I had an amazing pie from Angelico's, a true NY slice from Corner Slice in Bethesda, and Valentino's in Alexandria is in my top 5 for sure.
I am not a huge fan of Italian Store however, too much cheese and grease for me. To each it's own. I need to try the pizza cart in Ballston, has anyone been? I've heard it's amazing.
