Looks like a new restaurant opened up in the old Addie's Pizza place on adeline in Berkeley. They're billed as serving "comfort food." "The plan is family- and vegetarian-friendly global comfort food, with dishes like fried chicken, eggplant parmesan, ropa vieja, and Persian chicken wings, and the 83-seat spot should open May 1" |

Luca Cucina Italiana / San Pablo Av. /Berkeley two years later and they are still serving bland eggplant parmigiana and mushy broccoli rabe. you're right - better off trying one of their sandwiches. my friend got the chicken piccata. She said it had too much of a lemon taste. The capers were also a bit overwhelming. |

Can we get more Filipino food popularized than just adobo and sisig? Daly City has the largest number of pilipinos per capita in the US. Other areas in the bay area with large filipino communities include Milpitas, Union City, Vallejo. Find a seafood city and a valerios, that city probably has a large filipino community. |

Can we get more Filipino food popularized than just adobo and sisig? "but garlic rice with a fried egg makes my day" add longanisa to your fried egg and garlic fried rice and you've got yourself a traditional filipino breakfast! |

Good pie places in South Bay / Peninsula? Beckmann's, a bakery based in santa cruz, frequents many south bay markets. they sell fruit pies based on what is in season. i've tried their olallieberry and pumpkin pies and they were fine. i havent visited a south bay market in awhile, but i do remember them in the saratoga, campbell and sunnyvale markets. |

La Esperanza taco truck - Berkeley Yes. They also sometimes stop by addison and where it ends at the Berkeley Aquatic Park. A lot of construction in that area draws that truck there. |

Corned Beef - SF Dish of the Month (March 2013) I had the corned beef sandwich with Kraut, Gruyere, Parsley and Dijon Aioli at the local butcher shop in Berkeley. Not super moist, but tender. I felt the aioli kind of overpowered the meat, but i thought there were enough slices in the sandwich such that in most bites, the meat to filling ratio wasnt noticeably low. It's $9 - so, not terribly cheap (probably better to buy their corned beef (which they were not selling at the time) and make your own sandwich). And, like all of their sandwiches, it's not prepared on the spot. If you get a sandwich, dont take a card to wait in line - just grab the packaged sandwich located near the register and pay. |

Sliver PIzzeria and other new pizza places in Berkeley went in here for lunch today. slices are $2.75. and yes, you get the CB obligatory bonus slice (or sliver, perhaps). Half and whole pie prices are same as cheeseboard. also have the option of bringing home half baked pies at $10 (half) and $20 (whole). As the report in this thread alluded to, the concept is basically a copycat of cheeseboard. However, the crust is a bit different, although as psb noted, it's likely due to the oven rather than the ingredients. Basically, this place is a cross between cheeseboard and bobby g's - cheeseboard like pizza with a bar like feel (several televisions in the restaurant showing sporting events and, of course, the bar with noted happy hour). |

I agree. Clean em up as much as you can, but you're bound to miss a few of em. god knows how many bugs i have eaten since i largely eat my veggies and fruits from my own garden or from the farmers market. as long as i dont eat any worms or anything large enough to make me grimace, im fine. |
