Winters - Putah Creek Cafe
If you're looking for good food off I5, stop for lunch in downtown Winters - nice restored downtown, and the Putah Creek Cafe. Had the Davis Farmers Market tri tip sandwich, which was delicious. Good food, comfortable surroundings.
Special Needs Dining - Paris
PhillD: Thank you SO much for your reply. Sounds like ZKG is the frontrunner at this point, although I'm not sure the cuisine is exactly what I would prefer. Tightly paced tables don't concern me all that much, I just to to find a place that doesn't have stairs/steps. Do you by any chance know if Le Florimond, La Bastide Odeon or Au Bon Acceuil might be possibilities? Thank you again - the information you have provided thus far is invaluable; I've searched various internet sites in vain to find just this type of detail. My hotel in the 6th said the only restaurant they know of that would work is Le Procope - not high on my list of desirables.
Special Needs Dining - Paris
We will be meeting friends for dinner in Paris; one of my friends is disabled, so I'm looking for a restaurant, preferably in the 6th or nearby, that has no stairs/steps, and also has a toilet on the ground floor. My friend will not need her wheelchair at the table, she can walk short distances. A website called cityvox.fr lists many restaurants that they feel fit my criteria, but I am highly sceptical about their informaion. Among others, they list the following restaurants as suitable for the disabled:
Ze Kitchen Gallerie
Alcazar
La Regalade
L'Epi Dupin
Le Petit Zinc
Josephine chez Dumonet
Can anyone advise regarding the above restaurants, or any others that might fit the bill? I'm having a heckuva time finding a good restaurant that will be suitable. I hate to sacrifice food quality/experience, but it appears I may have to. Although we'd like to stay in the 6th, we'll also consider restaurants outside the 6th. Preferably, we'd like to find a moderately priced restaurant with good food and a warm convivial atmosphere - haute cuisine not required! Am I asking too much? Any advice anyone can offer will be appreciated. Thank you!
