Saturday Middle Eastern Lunch in Worcester
Spot on. Shiraz is good people cooking up good food cheap.
Favorite Falmouth restaurants
Lawrence's was IT in Falmouth for decades, but sadly, it's no more.
Paul's Pizza is the local hang, and makes excellent bar-style pizza.
Who has the best pizza in Berkshire County??
Arizona Pizza isn't bad at all, though it is by no means the top.
UNH Alums, et al---Karl's, Catnip Pub, Tin Palace--Durham NH?
Oh boy - the holy trinity of mid-80's UNH. Karl's, the Catnip and the TP! You know what made The Catnip cool? 16-oz Hop-Skips and the fact that, not only did they have "Classical Gas" on the jukebox... it was also the MOST PLAYED song on the jukebox. Also great was Poco Diablo's in Portsmouth and Pop's Pub and Bowling Alley in Newmarket. Boy that brings back memories.
Jigger's Diner in East Greenwich, Rhode Island re-open ?
April's Restaurant on Route 44 in Glocester, RI serves excellent jonnycakes.
Good Mexican Food?
Went to Tacos Mexico last night. The owner had closed the place at 6, but when he saw us pull up, he unlocked the door, re-started the grill and restocked his work area. We had chicken, beef and el pastor tacos... and they were the best I have had in Massachusetts. The burritos were the best I haver tried... maybe anywhere. The place is a bit of a hole in the wall, in the way that makes it all the more appealing once you realize that this is the EXACT sort of hidden gem you come across once in a great great while. The owner, Sergio, could not be nicer. He starts his day at 5am and usually isn't finished until 8 or 9. The guy works his butt off and his committment to his food and his customers is unparalleled. $1.50 per taco, $5.00 for a burrito. You cannot beat the prices or the product.
This is one amazing little taco stand.

where to have lunch in the "quiet corner"?
Turtles Tacos, yes. I am a big fan. Haven't seen a bad review yet. Also, just a few doors down from Turtles is Grandaddy's BBQ, which is pretty good for BBQ in New England.
Seen heading southbound on Route 146 yesterday
The "Mac Daddy Macaroni and Cheese" food truck..
Looked like a new venture.
Had Rhode Island plates.
The advertising on the side featured what looked like 15 or 20 variations on mac and cheese.
Paco's Tacos in Harvard Square
I would stack Turtles Tacos in Putnam up against the best California tacquerias.
Paco's Tacos in Harvard Square
I loved Paco's. Don't know anything about their recipes though.
Connecticut Pizza
Pyzzz in Putnam. Always get a good pizza there.

Rye Whiskey in Worcester Area?
Armsby is more of a beer place. Citizen isn't whisky-specific. Paul at The Greyhound is VERY knowledgable when it comes to whiskies. He has a great selection. Whisky is kind of the hook to his whole place.
Best Pizza on Cape Cod?
The linguica pizza at Paul's Pizza in Falmouth. Best on the Cape.
As anyone been to a Compare Supermarket?
Great prices. Plus they have a take-out section that is cheap and filling.
Kemps hamburgers Hyannis Ma
It was a small chain. I know there was one in Worcester, at the corner of Park Ave and Pleasant. I think I remember one in NH as well. Maybe there were 10 or 12 locations at one time, but by the mid-70's they were all closed.
Crown Fried Chicken - Derby, CT
Crown FC seems to be in the middle of an expansion. A number of new locations in the past year. They are adding a third location in Worcester. Good prices, great hours. Good chicken, though I think Kennedy FC has the best, though I guess with these sketchy chains quality varies by location.
Has Anyone Tried Turtles Tacqueria in Putnam, CT?
It's cheap and delicious. Worth the ride from Providence or Worcester.
GREAT little taco shop in Putnam,CT.
Turtles is AMAZING. Their chorizo tacos are addictive. Prices are great. Occasional lines, but nothing too bad.
least terrible chains?
Wild Willy's Burgers, a New England chain that's better than Five Guys.
Safari Cafe in Worcester
I drive by this place daily, but it doesn't look clean. The window blinds are always haphazard and it doesn't looks well-put-together. Maybe I'll stop in, but the place needs better curb appeal to make a go of it.
Your father's beer.
My dad HATED the taste of beer, BUT he had chronic kidney stones, so his doctor told him to drink cranberry juice during the day and one or two beers at night. He eventually settled on Labatts as the most tolerable.
wood-fired pizza
Pyzzz in Putnam is pretty good.

Bush Meadow Farm, Union CT
AMAZING. Had breakfast here a couple of weeks ago. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had. All the food is local and fresh. The owner even cures and smokes his own pastrami, which, with the exception of Schwartz's in Montreal, is the best smoked meat I have ever had. On the morning I was there the special was German brined pork chops. The owner even makes his own ketchup! The cinnamon rolls are also home made and the largest I've seen.
