Chef Massimo Capra's new Restaurant (Mistura) Great food, check it out.

Favourite downtown Sandwich?

Brick Street Bakery in the Distillery has some awesome sandwiches. Yummy fresh bread and interesting options. I love the Coronation Chicken Sandwich and the lamb wrap is amazing too....mmm

stratto pizza - avenue road

Stratto has the worst pizza I have ever tasted!! Went there last night for a casual meal of salad & pizza and I couldn't even eat more than 1 peice of pizza. It tasted worse than a frozen pizza at the grocery store and I am not exaggerating. It baffles my mind as to why this place continues to be busy every night, I guess people don't know good food anymore or maybe just don't care? In the area, the only place worth having pizza is Trio.

Good Pizza in Vaughan/Woodbridge

Le Jardin Conference Centre

The food at LEr Jardin is VERY good for a Banquet Hall and I have been there for many weddings. There are dozens of banquet facilities in the Vaughan area that are also very good that can accomodate your large group.

Beef Bourguignon

Where can I get amazing Beef Bourguignon is Toronto? Has anyone had it recently?

The sad state of falafel in Toronto

I know this is a bit out of the city but if you are ever in the Markham area on Hwy 7 near Kennedy Rd. is an amazing Falafel place called Alex's Falafel. I think it is the best I've had, does not even compare to Tov-li which I used to love. Very Authentic and the Shwarma is delicious as well.

Eataly NYC

Wenytby on the weekend, I'll admit I was a bit lost at first and it was very crowded, tried to sit and eat something but the wait was about an hour so instead I walked out of the main entrance around the corner and grabbed a pizza to go....very good flavours, while a bit soggy it was still very enjoyable.

NYC food-filled weekend

Ok I think I'm set on Striphouse!!
Ya I was thinking about Otto for Pizza but just thought I should have more "traditional" New York style Pizza if that even exists anymore. I'm from Toronto so I'm used to the Napoli style pizza which I absolutley love, just never really tried a real New York original style pizza yet. Is Lombardi's worth a visit?

NYC food-filled weekend

Coming to NYC next weekend for Columbus Day weekend. Basically planning my trip around good food! Looking forward to some memorable meals as I am celebrating my Birthday.

Going for Steak Sat night and Babbo Sun night for their Pasta tasting menu.
Can't decide between Striphouse or BLT Steak. I want a fun lively atmosphere and really good Ribeye Steak. The sides at Striphouse sound amazing! I've heard great things about both...

Any other recommendations for Breakfast or lunch? Want some Pizza, Burgers anything else I shouldn't miss? I am going to attempt checking out EATALY...not sure if I will survive the crowds but hoping to grab a panini and some gelato?

We are staying Midtown across from the New York Public Library so if there are any recommendations nearby for Breakfast or lunch that would be great.

Thanks!

Chicago this weekend - 3 couples

Looking for some dining options for 3 couples for a 40th Birthday weekend trip.
We arrive Friday night probably somewhat late so thinking we can try some traditional Deep dish pizza, somewhere we can actually sit down. Lou Malnatti's, Uno, Due, Giordano's?? Which is best for pizza & environment?

We have reservations at Gibson's for Sunday night, so now we need somwhere for Saturday night? Was thinking Cafe Spiaggia? Or any other recommendations that would be a good option? Seafood? Mexican? Any not miss spots. Was thinking of heading over to a jazz bar afterwards, any suggestions on that?

We are from Toronto, so we love to eat and drink and have a good time :)

Thanks in advance!

Freshii

I enjoy the rice bowls, preferably the Bliss Bowl. It's flavourful and healthy and very filling! I think it a great healthy alternative to take-out.

What is the best restaurant in Yorkville?

My vote is Mistura. The Wild Boar Agnolotti is to die for as is the Red Beet Risotto and Rabbit. The ambiance is quite nice too.

anyone try PC Lamb Spiedini Mini-Skewers ?

They are actually excellent! I like them on BBQ with a sprinkle of lemon.

Funnel Fun on Avenue

The Funnel cakes at Wonderland are MUCH better tasting in my opinion.
They have crepes and waffles as well which is good. I guess for a dessert place on Avenue road there isn't many options so it will probably do well for now. For people in the area I guess it is a good addition to the neighbourhood, something different anyway.

Best pizza in Toronto?

Pizzeria Libretto or Terroni hands down!!

Panago (pizza) - anyone tried this yet?

I saw the sign for Panago's opening in the Avenue Road/401area as well, not sure when? Never heard of it. I hope it is better than Pizza Pizza.
I still wish that there was a really good pizza place there instead...

stratto pizza - avenue road

Stratto is nothing special. Like others have mentioned Trio is a far better option for real Italina pizza & pasta. Was not too impressed.
I gotta say Avenue Rd/401/Lawrence area is lacking in really good restaurants. Don't even think about going to Il Fornaro, a menu with over 10 spelling mistakes and a million options on it is always a bad sign! Tutto Pronto is good, I like it more for take-out, sandwiches etc. Oh well...maybe one day we will get a really great palce? Maybe Terroni will open up another location?
