Frozen yoghurt

I really like Orange Cup at The Domain. Clean-flavored yogurt, but they don't let you add your own toppings...they do it for you. A cool feature is the printout on the cup of your selection's nutritional breakdown.
I also really love Menchie's at Central Park. They have great rotating flavors like peanut butter, lemon and strawberry shortcake. Plus lots of toppings!

House Pizzeria on Airport Blvd.

I agree, House Pizzeria is Austin's best pizza. It is very similar to pizza I had in Rome...thin sourdough crust, charred in places and just chewy enough, topped with fresh ingredients and not too much cheese. I ordered the special which came dressed with local summer squash. It was amazing! Can't wait to go back.

True Mom and Pops

Tam Deli on North Lamar is run by two sisters. They are always there and make the most delicious Bahn Mi.

five guys burgers and fries

Mmmmm! They have a Five Guys in my hometown of Chattanooga. It is really delicious. Same concept as Mighty Fine. but with more burger add-on choices. They've won lots of awards all over the southeast.

Baby Greens

I love the Sharon's wrap with tofu. They marinate the tofu in soy (I think) and it lends an almost meaty flavor.
I do believe their dressings are homemade.

Where can I go that will satisfy a carnivore steak lover and a Vegetarian who doesn’t eat anything with a face?

Houston's has a wonderful veggie burger and a decadent veggie plate. And the food with faces is awesome too!

Coconut Cake Recommendations?

CocoLeches cake at Chez Zee is to die for!!!

BBQ

Is there anyplace in town with a decent chopped pork sandwich? I miss my Memphis BBQ...chopped hickory smoked pork drenched in sweet sauce and topped with cole slaw on a soft bun.
Mmmmmmm!

Vivo: I saw the sign: Cedar Park

Mmmmmm! Puffy tacos just a few miles away. Thanks for the good news, Scout!

Mmmm...biscuits

Ranch 616 biscuits are good. They serve 'em with honey.

Upscale Local Food

Lambert's is upscale BBQ and uses a lot of local ingredients.

Moving from LA - Looking for healthy options

Don't discount Whole Foods before you even get here! The headquarters are pretty amazing.
Lots of local restaurants work hard to provide local and organic foods.
If you want to shop organic from home, I use Greenling Organic Delivery.

great outdoor dining with a baby?

Ski Shores is cool. County Line on the lake. Nutty Brown Cafe (not on the lake, but still outside and kid-friendly). The Blu Parrot Lakeside Bar & Grill (inside Volente Beach Water Park).

Austin Texas restaurant suggestions?

I was curious about La Michoacan because I live near Cedar Park. Looks like it was sold and renamed Los Reyes. :-(

Rosie Pho and Other New 1890 Ranch Restaurants

I live close to 1890 Ranch. Thanks for the heads-up. I'll go check it out this weekend!

Best Austin Cookie

Tiff's Treats warm chocolate chip cookies with cold milk.

Lamberts BBQ - Perceptor's Photo Report

Another great show! Thanks, Perceptor. I wish you lived here so we could always get these slideshows of local eateries. Come back soon!!!!

Uchi - Perceptor's Photo Report

Your photos are lovely. Look like something out of a magazine!
I haven't been to Uchi in quite awhile. Thanks to you, I will make it a point to return soon.

Custom-Decorated Cookies?

"All In One Bake Shop" does a lot of custom work for me.

Brooklyn Pie Company?

Wait. Now I'm confused! There is a Brooklyn Pie Company in my neighborhood (Avery Ranch) which would be considered Cedar Park.
I can tell you the crust is good, but they use too much cheese (my pet peeve) and it greases down the pizza too much.

Byblos vs. Zorba's

Byblos is a great meal deal. You get lots of food for a great price. I crave those garlicky pickles!!!

New bbq place in Round Rock

Thanks for the post, rajat! I live near there and will give Johnny T's a try.

The Grove - Reed's latest

I agree. Great patio. The pasta bolognese was very good. The bartender knew his wines. Only problem I had was slow service. But they were incredibly crowded (it was a weeknight!) and I imagine they are working out some kinks.

Restaurant supply stores in Austin?

Sweet100s.
I would recommend the Ace Mart on N Lamar. It is better organized and I found it was stocked better than the one on 5th st

Valentine's Day Set Menu

We did Aquarelle a couple of years ago and it was very nice. I even brought the menu home and framed it for my kitchen wall. It was a memorable meal.

New Arboretum Sushi?

I ate there last night. It is the sister restaurant to Uptown in Houston. Beautiful restaurant. Much of the menu is similar to Uptown...http://www.uptown-sushi.com
Service was wonderful. I had the lamb chops with blood oranges and spiced potatoes. Delicious! My friends had sushi and said that it was very fresh and the rolls were unique. Priced about the same as Uptown as well.

Covered patios?

Guero's on South Congress has a small patio that allows dogs. Not the greatest Tex-Mex in town, but great people watching!

Indian in Austin?

Curry in a Hurry on Parmer near IH-35 is good vegetarian Indian food. You get a huge plate of curry, soup or beans, basmati rice and roti for only $5.99.
The menu changes every day. You can see it here:

Are Janie's Pound Cakes Worth the Dough?

I tried a sample of the cake today and thought it was really delicious! Very moist and the lemon tasted very fresh.
Everything in life is a sacrifice of time or money. So I guess if you wanted to take the time to bake one urself, making homemade lemon curd...
I would pay $25 if I had a special occasion.
