Best Inexpensive Vietnamese in downtown Orlando?

Does Little Saigon fit the bill?

Stonewood Tavern in Ormond Beach?

Thanks!

Miami Spice - Good Value for Money?

best spice value in my opinion is Tuscan Steak--they give you multiple signature dishes for the thirty five bucks! You can get the signature antipasto, signature gnocchi AND angel hair pasta WITH a choice of three main courses---I chose the skirt steak. best of all, the service was stellar and the staff actually offered the spice menu as opposed to those places that begrudgingly give you the menu only if you ask.

BEST BAR FOOD?

Clarke's wings, irish spring rolls and mini wellingtons......yum!

Stonewood Tavern in Ormond Beach?

Anyone been? Thoughts?

Artisanal Cheese in Miami

heheheh, excellent. i love foodie speakeasies!

Artisanal Cheese in Miami

Ah! is that the 'shady' caviar spot, too? Where you have to sort of wink to get the good stuff hidden in the back?!

TOP BURGERS IN FLA

I love Tobacco Road's Death Burger!

Artisanal Cheese in Miami

Epicure is ok, but still not fully impressed by the cheese selection. I once had a French hair stylist who used to get the best cheeses somewhere off Biscayne Blvd and 79th? Does anyone know of this place or any other place that isn't Wild Oats, Epicure, et al?

Hell's kitchen finale (moved from Not About Food)

Good point re: Bonnie, Twiggles. She admitted in a recent episode that this was too much for her, so it makes sense that she'd be relieved when she lost to Rock. And I'd order milk shake and cookies for dessert in a heartbeat!

Hell's kitchen finale (moved from Not About Food)

Rock deserved to win and Bonnie was a class act when she seemed genuinely happy for him unlike sour Julia who really seemed bitter and nasty last night.

Dim Sum Tour #3- Kon Chau

Kon Chau is one of Miami's best kept secrets. I prefer it to Tropical or Jumbo. Have yet to try Mr Chu, but I imagine the prices there are much loftier than Kon Chau's?

Michael's Genuine Spice....

Agree with you yomy--LOVE the kimchee and pretty much everything there except the wait staff. Last visit we had the most condescending waiter ever. It was very off putting.

Fresh on Fifth

I have only been to the restaurant, not the noodle shop, which I hear is infinitely better than the restaurant itself. do they deliver?

The Daily - NE 19th st, Miami

agreed. love the place, too (though the chicken salad i had on my last visit was spoiled-). wish we had one on the beach.

Fresh on Fifth

i love ramen!!!

Fresh on Fifth

I've been there twice--it's at the corner of 5th and Ocean (on the South of Fifth side), and it's delicious and deserves its name. Everything is super fresh--they use fresh ingredients and Boar's Head products. You create your own sandwich or salad by using a check list of ingredients----I've only had the sandwiches there thus far but the salads look stellar, too.

Hell's Kitchen Finale - Part 1 (spoilers)

Jen bugs the hell out of me and her love fest with Bonnie, I agree, is stomach churning!

Hell's Kitchen Finale - Part 1 (spoilers)

I cant believe what a mess Julia was last night. She seemed like such a sore loser when she actually walked away with the best prize--cooking school! I hope she doesnt sabotage Bonnie next week...

Artisanal chocolate sources in Miami?

Christabelle's Quarter (cgrove)

--Friday night, party of six with reservations at 930
arrived promptly at 930 to discover velvet ropes and a mob scene at the host's stand
--people had been waiting over an hour for a table
the place was mobbed!
--chaos and confusion at the host stand
--our party decides to wedge into the downstairs bar while the host stand tries to figure out what to do with all the people waiting for tables
--i ask the bartender if they have any specialty cocktails; he replies "like a hurricane?"
--er ,not exactly, but anything?
--"no we dont do specialty cocktails"
--"er, ok. I'll just have a chardonnay"
--drinks served in PLASTIC cups!
--an HOUR later we were seated, after hounding the host over and over --we were about to leave but decided to see how long it would take
---seated on second floor, great table, next to live jazz band which was stellar
---service was swift and impressive
---food--sadly--mediocre---the best dish we had was the broiled louisiana oysters---very savory with garlic flavor
--appetizer platter was too fried
--main courses were ok, but paltry portions and no starch or vegetable or even garnish for the plate. very bare minimum
--all in all, i'd go back for oysters and music but not main courses.
--the velvet ropes are absurd
--hopefully they get their reservations system in order

Cleveland Steakhouse Opening in South of Fifth

Touche, LAX! Oy.....

Norman's at the Ritz?

I thought it was better than his original Coral Gables location!

Christabelle's Quarter (cgrove)

Ha! I am going in at my own risk...

Cleveland Steakhouse Opening in South of Fifth

NM: I so agree. It's absurd already. Don't these people do market research? And wait! Next to Clarke's is a Brazilian STEAKHOUSe, which will be up the block from the OTHER Brazilian steakhouse going above monty's!!!

Cleveland Steakhouse Opening in South of Fifth

Just noticed across from my bldg at 1st and Washington a sign for a new steakhouse coming soon:

http://www.redthesteakhouse.com/

Apparently it's big in Cleveland and has received lots of accolades. Anyone know anything about it?

Christabelle's Quarter (cgrove)

I'm going tomorrow night and will report back!

Hell's Kitchen - July 30th - Spoilers

I was rooting for Julia all the way..does anyone know if Ramsay is really sending her to cooking school a la Donald Trump sending one of his Apprentices to biz school? I thought Jen was too weak for executive chef duties and think Rock is a shoe in, though it would be kind of amusing if Jessica Simpson--er, Bonnie, pulls it all out, proves she's not such a ditz, which she has done in the past few episodes minus the frank and beans thing, and take the show! I'm rooting for both, frankly!

Paula Deen, Giada, Emeril and more at Food Network South Bch Wine and Food Fest

This year's is going to be stellar. Last year's was exceptional and introduced the Rachael Ray Burger Bash, but this year with Mario and Jamie at Danny Devito's restaurant, and Paula Deen doing a poker party, it's going to rock!!!
