Need Recommendation for Group Dinner in SF/Union Square or Nearby Area
Hi Everyone. I will be in SF in a few weeks for a convention, and need to take some of my staff (6 - 8 people, mostly women) out to dinner one night. We are staying in the Union Square area. I need a recommendation for a restaurant that is moderately priced ($30-40/person), within walking distance of Union Square hotels or a short cab ride, something local (non-chain), and ideally something great food and atomosphere. Any ideas?? Please feel free to ask for questions to narrow things down. I REALLY appreciate everyone's expert opionions.

Boston Restaurant Recommendation
We will be staying at 275 Tremont which is the Courtyard Marriott Hotel. The night we will be in town will be a Friday night (August 7th, I believe). Actually, the higher price point is fine and less of a factor. I just wanted to avoid anything overly pretentious and stuffy feeling. I'm not looking for tiny portions with 40 ingredients and something frozen in liquid nitrogen or a flavored foam on top - Ha!! Biggest factors are superior food/wine and ingredients, and nothing that is too hustle-bustle so that you can't hear your friends speak.
Boston Restaurant Recommendation
I am coming into Boston soon, and am looking for a recommendation for a restaurant for a dinner with myself and 5 friends. We enjoy casual/upscale dining and like Italian and/or seafood. We are staying on Tremont Street; however, taking a cab anywhere would not be an issue. We are not looking for a white table cloth, 5 Star dining experience; however, the food MUST be outstanding. Something a bit off the beaten path, with local flavor, somewhere where you can carry on a conversation, and with superior service and attention to the food and details is an absolute. Any suggestions or favorite places that might fit or come close to this?
