Trying to find No. 5 Umami Paste by Laura Santini in Vancouver as gifts for some friends. I saw it at Holt Renfrew last week but they seem to be sold out and they dont know when they will re-stock. Does anyone know where else I can find it in Vancouver. Alternately, does anyone know of an online store that ships to Canada that would have it? |

Hokkaido-style Santuoka Ramen is open (Vancouver) E. 5th Benkei looks ready to open in less than 2 weeks. I passed by and took a peek inside and the interiors look pretty done. They have furniture in but it looks like they're just doing some tweaking with the kitchen. I've been trying to visit Santuoka Ramen for like 2 weeks and every time i go its an impossible line up! (mind you its ussually either friday or sat night) |

I was at the Palace Kitchen a while ago and loved the olive oil they served with their bread. Does any one know what brand it is? I did a little searching around and some believe that its California Arbequena Olive Oil. Update Mar 8 2010: Someone from Palace Kitchen emailed me after my inquiry to them directly and said that its Arbequena Olive Oil by Provista that you can buy at DeLaurentis. |

H-mart is good. My regular Korean place is Red Chicken on Bute between Robson and Haro... next to the Ebisu entrance. |

I like the sillyness of that show. I tried Lin's last night. Their shanghainese soup dumplings are pretty good ($4.99). Service was a little slow. Tan Tan noodles were not very tasty but I think I was having a bad ordering day. I would try it again. Ill have to try their smoked duck next time. |
