Family/Baby-Friendly Restaurants
Mainly Northwest Austin, but we like variety and enjoy going downtown and East Austin on Friday/Saturday nights. Right now, we have an infant who just hangs out in a car seat, so we can pretty much cart him around anywhere. It's just a matter of where can we go without gettiing funny looks.
Family/Baby-Friendly Restaurants
We have recently entered parenthood and would like some recommendations on good family-friendly restaurants. Right now, the baby is still in a car seat and travels easily, but we still feel a little uncomfortable taking him into fine-dining establishments.
Fav at Alamo Drafthouse?
I am at the point in my life where I will only go see a movie at an Alamo Drafthouse location. I can't stand the traditional movie experience anymore. So whether the location is part of the original owner's chain or the franchise, I don't really care because there's always beer and there is never a slew of dumb Coca-cola commercials for the first 45 minutes of the film. As for the food, any time I've strayed from my go to items, I have been disappointed. We both like the 'Enter The Dragon' pizza. Most of the sandwiches are overly bready to me -- I would recommend skipping them. The safest best is to order a pizza -- it is hard to screw that up. If you get disappointing food, just remember the benefits of being able to drink a beer and order another one. :)
Goat Diary Farm - Milking/Cheese Making in Austin Area?
Being a huge ChowHound fan I couldn't think of a better place to ask this rather strange question. My wife is dead set on milking a goat for her birthday this year. As you can imagine, we're not having the easiest experience finding a place that offers tours or even more intimate shadowing etc... Pure Luck is an obvious choice but their workshops are only in the fall and tours are closed. Does anyone know any other places in the Austin Area where she could possibly tour a working dairy, experience some cheese making, and most importantly . . . milk a goat!
Thanks,
Alex
