Cape Breton Foods, and Where to Eat Them?!

For a nice meal out I would go to the Golf Course (Cabot Links) in Inverness, the best food on the Island, maybe Nova Scotia, with an amazing view as well.
The Glenora Distillery is very nice as well. You wouldn't be disapointed. It's in the same area.
Probably my favorite is The Red Shoe Pub in Mabou. It's the one place I wouldn't miss. The food is good but atmosphere is amazing. It's very "East Coast." Again, not to be missed.
If you are driving by Baddeck and want lunch there is a spot called The Herring Choker, it is very good.
When you drive on to the Island there is a place called Fleur De Lis in Port Hawkesbury. Probably the best resturant in the area. Really good homemade food. It is kind of hiding in the middle of a strip mall, but worth driving in to if you are crossing the causeway.
Half way around the Trail there is a place called Morrisons. It is good as well. Worth a stop if you are in the Area.
If you are in North Sydney you have to stop at the Lick-A-Chick. It is greasy, KFC style chicken...probably worse, but one of those spots that everyone has been to.....for some reason. Go just to say you went. :)
The Yellow Chello in Baddeck is good as well.

If you are going to be in Cape Breton the last week of August, and like good food, check this out:

It's amazing.

If you have any questions about any of the locations, or any specific areas just ask and I will do my best to help.

p.s.
If you are driving by Antigonish on your way there are a few great sports in Antigonish
Gabrieau's Bistro is really good, The Brownstone is also good and The Public hoise is a great spot to stop for a drink.

Lobsters on a plane

I think they have a 15lbs and a 30lbs box. I am sure you can get as few as you wanted and probably up to 60lbs. If they are packed well they can stay alive up to 72 hours.

Need a dinner spot between Halifax and Moncton

The Masstown Market is a good spot. I also like Saltcapes in Truro. Here is the website.

Great Sandwich Spots in Nova Scotia

Stop at this place, it is just outside Baddeck, in Cape Breton. It is great.

Where to eat in Cape Breton and along road to Halifax

After leaving Halifax, nothing to really write about untill Antigonish. If you are having lunch both the Dragonfly Cafe or Sunshine on Main wold be great. If its later and you want diner either Gabrieau's Bistro or Alcove Bistro And Lounge would be great. You wouldn't be disapointed with either.
If you get to Port Hawkesbury there is a great place called Fleur de Lis, great for brunch or lunch. It is in a strip mall, but don't let that throw you off.
Another spot on you way to Baddeck is called the Herring Choker, a cool little spot. great fo lunch as well.
If you could only stop at one spot go to The Red Shoe Pub, in Mabou. The food is good but amazing atmosphere, you will not want to leave.
The Glennora Distillary is good as well, beautiful spot. The dining room can be expensive, but it is nice.
There are other nice spots around, but these stand out.

Cape Breton Island: suggestions for Aug 2009?

Also in Antigonish The Alcove is a great spot. For lunch The Sunshine on Main is very good. In Cape Breton I would not miss the Red Shoe Pub, you will not regret it.
