Any Taiwanese cafe in or close to the Southbay?

didnt know about ju ju shine.im pretty sure the people who own sues kitchen are not taiwanese. anyways, the beef noodle soup is some of the best anywhere in the LA area, and i have heard people say that they like it better then most of the stuff served in taiwan.

South Bay Favorites (VERY LONG)

i'd like to add ramen california to my list of my favorites in this area. when it isnt hot, we probably go there 1-2 times a week. and as of right now, ortega 120 has the best mexican in this area even if it is more "modern" and such. though i agree there are other good ones in the area. i also like sue's kitchen and pho hong long next to el camino college,

Looking for good restaurant for holiday dinner!!

hello everyone,
Im looking for ideas for a holiday dinner. We are looking for a place that has a private room and has flexible menus. Im looking for anywhere from beverly hills the farthest north to as far south as long beach. we are probably looking to spend not more then maybe 60-75 dollars per person, the lower the better. As for cuisine, nothing too exotic or predominantly one type of food, i.e. seafood, sushi, etc etc. please help! we need to book something very soon.

DineLA- running reviews of places so far

We went to ortega 120 on thursday night for DineLA. the food was really good , better then i expected. we all had the DineLA menu. the pricing was pretty good for just 26 dollars per person. they were also serving their regular menu and the server also mentioned that the "hells kitchen" special was available as well. The only thing we didnt like is that they were very slow serving the food, they seemed overwhelmed. when there were less tables service was noticeably better, but for most of our meal it seemed like everyone working in the restaurant was running around trying to keep up with everyone dining. During DineLa it would seem like it would benefit them to have customer service/staffing up to par, since im sure some people dining may not come back due to slow service. Overall the food was well worth the wait. i liked the decor and atmosphere. There was a lot of ample garage parking behind the restaurant and most importantly, well at least to me, not having to fight traffic on the 405, 101, or 10 freeway was nice.

Looking for steakhouse/american/ for group! LAS VEGAS!

hi everyone,
im looking for a restaurant to take a large group (60ppl company meeting) for dinner during the week. unfortunately this group will include kids as well as adults. our budget is around 30-35 per person not including drinks. im looking for a restaurant that preferably isnt part of a chain and has a good variety and trying to avoid buffets since we will be having buffetts for all our other meals. looking for the nicest place possible and would be a plus if it is in a hotel on the strip so we have something to do after dinner instead of having to drive somewhere again. also, trying to avoid anything asian or mexican, since we usually do that when we are at home. sorry if this is so general, but trying to find something for a group of people that all want different things is hard. if it was up to me we would eat at craftsteak and i could have a ribeye and a bottle of red and be happy, but then again my boss would probably fire me for going over budget! hahah thanks fr the input everyone.

Food4Less... Am I Missing Something? [moved from L.A. board]

i dont shop at food4less that much, but thats only because the nearest one to me is a bit of a drive. but i have shopped there in the past and have found that most of the stuff they sell there is very similar if not the same as ralphs or albertsons. the only difference is the price. if you go there you know why they are able to offer the same products for cheaper. the reason being that you bag your own groceries, the displays are more industrial, the floors are more likely the be older and more warehouse like, the lighting is flourescents, no nice lighting or wood floors, etc. but the key is that you do save money on most items, produce i have found is hit or miss, but then again same with most markets except for the higher end markets like bristol farms, gelsons, etc....
