Wine Bars in Vegas

Thank you.

Wine Bars in Vegas

My hubby and I are going to Vegas with my best friend and her hubby. Earlier this year she visited in Costa Rica without him. So since he is a wine connoisseur I want to plan a night for him. He is truly a great guy. So any suggestions are appreciated.

Vegetarian/Vegan Options on the Strip

Thanks so much for all the information. I couldn't be happier. It is such a bummer to go dinner and feel like your food options are nothing more than afterthought. The Wynn sounds like a stop we can't miss. We'll also be hitting our the pizza place in Ceasar's Palace we at ate when we got hitched in Vegas.

Viva Las Vegas!!!!

Vegetarian/Vegan Options on the Strip

I am headed to back to Vegas. Last visit we still ate meat and I was still lactose tolerant. So this time around I am bit nervous because we like food with a wonderful ambiance. I want to dress up and hit the town all gussied up. So where can we go?

Since I occasionally eat fish sushi is a great option. Italian also works well along with Indian.

Thanks.

P.S. Also looking for any fun funky hang outs. I heard there was a cocktail lounge/nail salon.

In search of buttermilk in Costa Rica

Buttermilk is readily available at grocery stores. It is called leche agria. It is always by the milk in a white and light blue carton.

I want to learn to cook Argentine food in Argentina

I took an empanada and parilla cooking class from Teresita. She was fantastic and I cannot recommend her enough. The empanada class is a must.

Been to Costa Rica? What restaurants do you recommend?

I live in Costa Rica and am hooked on arroz y frijoles. Rice and beans are a staple of the Costa Rican diet. Sadly, hotels rarely do these items justice. A trip to any local restaurant is a great way to experience these humble side dishes as they are meant to be eaten.

My rule of thumb is to look for the spot where the locals eat. And order there. Usually, I get a casado (married man's meal) which is a protein (beef, chicken, pork or fish) served with rice, black beans and veggie in the form of picadillo. This is a veggie chopped and cooked with spices. My favorite is zucchini in a milk sauce.

The reply is a little late for the original poster but hopefully can help a future traveler.
