Sunchokes or Jerusalem artichokes
I am having trouble finding this potato-like vegetable call sunchokes or Jerusalem artichokes. I live in the NDG/Cote des Neiges/Snowden area. Can anyone suggest a store that may have these? Thanks.
Healthy cottage cheese in Montreal?
you are absolutely correct. Mehedrin in the plastic containers has the same ingredients. Mehedrin in the wax paper brick (.1% mf, a bit dry but edible) has fewer ingredients and more natural but alot more expensive $6.79 for 500g. (if my memory serves me well) I guess it would be good for cooking or just spreading on toast. Good luck on making it at home.
Healthy cottage cheese in Montreal?
You can purchase Mehadrin dairy products at the Kosher sections of supermarkets that have a kosher section. I have seen it at the Metro supermarket on Queen Mary and Trans Island (I think that's the cross street). Also at the IGA in Cote st-Luc shopping centre and at the IGA in Cavendish Mall which has a huge kosher section because it is in Cote st-luc. You can buy the 500 gram container for $4.99 or maybe it has gone up in price since I last bought it.
Best Pastry shop (patisserie) in Montreal?
San Marco should definitely be included on the list. 1581 Jean Talon est near Fabre metro station.
Korasan Kabob
As far as I know it is the same menu for lunch as for supper. They had platters for $17.00. I imagine they must be humongeous and for more than 1 person. They also had specials for during the week on the menu. A different special every week day.
Korasan Kabob
Sorry, it is located on Sherbrooke street West corner of Harvard, south side of Sherbrooke. I think the address is 5700 Sherbrooke st west, right next door to the fruit store Rocky Montana.
Korasan Kabob
I finally tried this restaurant for lunch yesterday, It was excellent. Myself and 2 dining companions had the same dishes. We ordered the Koobideh Poulet and Beef ($11.00 each platter) a sidedish of Mirza Gassemi (an eggplant dish with fried onions on top, absolutely delicious). The eggplant dish was extra ($5.50) but a very tasty and different bean soup called Aresh Te came included with the meal . The beef and chicken were minced and molded into a kabob shaped portion, very large and tasty. The three of us are big eaters yet we had to take home half the platter. Very tasty and generous portions. It opens at 12:00pm. I highly recommend and I will definitely go back. The only drawback is there are no desserts. Tea also comes included with the meal.
Organic food stores in laval / montreal
There is a small grocery store on Sherbrooke st west, corner Cavendish, directly across the street from Provigo. They have a small selection of organic meats, chicken and some dairy products. Other items you would find in a health food store (breads, soups and other canned goods, grains etc.)
Anything worth eating in Lasalle, Lachine or Dorval?
I have colleagues who used to live in Lasalle and we still go to Nouveau Lasalle quite often. Food is good, prices reasonable, very family type restaurant. I usually order the lasagna or the chicken brochette. I believe it is on Shevshenko not far from Newman. I recommend it. In Dorval there is Barbies, Scores in the shopping centre. I believe the deli in the shopping centre is quite decent. Good luck.
Picasso reopening
I used to go there for breakfast Saturdays and or Sundays. I believe that was their forte. Great breakfasts but not cheap. I used to order from there as well. Good but you are right ,not great. Smoked meat sandwichs, hamburgers acceptable (I thought). Maybe my standards are lower than most people. I did try their pizza once and it was awful. If it did open again I would probably order from them and go for breakfasts occasionally. And it was a landmark in the area.
Motyi Mohal
I am going to Moti Mohal tomorrow 1024 Jean Talon west. Can anyone tell me the closest metro station to this restaurant. Thanks

Sul Viale
My sister used to go eat there on occasion and always had glowing reviews. I am surprised that they couldn't make it.
Sul Viale
Thanks, quite a pity. IMHO an excellent restaurant. The best lasagna I ever had.
Sul Viale
Does anyone know if Sul Viale is still open? I called for delivery over the weekend and the number 514-485-0888 was out of service.

Where could I find Mozartkugel in Montreal?
I believe they were Mirabell. I thought they were good. I did not notice any other brands but I am sure Atlantique has others. I will try going back when the weather clears up a bit.
Where could I find Mozartkugel in Montreal?
Yes, I think they are one and the same but I wouldn't call them candies. They are chocolates. Quite nice with a hot drink where they melt in your mouth.
Where could I find Mozartkugel in Montreal?
I was just at Atlantique yesterday and they have an abundance of them. A box of 12 for $12.95 and a box of 18 for $16.95. Tons of other goodies as well.
