ISO layer cake which contains white chocolate and raspberries

Does anyone have any good layer cake recipes which contain white chocolate and raspberries? I plan to bake a cake tomorrow. The cake base can not be chocolate since some of my guests do not like chocolate cake.

Gale Grand's root beer -- commercially available?

I saw it today at Sunset Foods. They are sold as single bottles.

Your choice for Trader Joe's BEST item

My favorite item is the Super Spinach Salad. I love it because it tastes great and contains good things like edamame, spinach, pumpkin seeds and quinoa.

question about De Buyer pan for omelet and tortilla

It looks like I should be using my cast skillet to make tortillas.

question about De Buyer pan for omelet and tortilla

What kind of pan would be good for making my own tortillas? Would I have to use a stainless steel pan for that?

question about De Buyer pan for omelet and tortilla

I plan to make 2 egg omelets, pancakes and tortillas. Is the 9.5'' De Buyer blue steel crepe pan large enough?

question about Arco Iris

Which dishes are good at the restaurant? What do you recommend?

question about Arco Iris

I was looking for a restaurant which is within 20min. of Tampa airport (for dinner). Is Arco Iris in a safe neighborhood? We don't want to drive into a bad area. If this is not a good option, are there any other kid-friendly places which you would recommend for Cuban food? I am looking for a place which has half decent bathrooms and such.

Need stir fry pan recommendation

I had a wok before, but did not get much use of it before it became rusty. Now I know that I should dry it out. I have a gas burner. I have read some reviews of woks where it is a common problem that woks get rusty. If I dry the wok out, would rust still be a problem or do I need to coat it with a thin layer of oil (like what I do with my Lodge pan)?

Need stir fry pan recommendation

Would I be getter off with a wok with a flat bottom or a curved bottom given that I don't have a wok ring (nor high output burner)? I would probably get a carbon steel wok.

Need stir fry pan recommendation

I don't have a high output burner. I have the gas burner (builder quality). What kind of pan do you recommend for stir frying? I don't want any non-stick coating. I am cooking for 4.

question about De Buyer pan for omelet

If I am looking for a De Buyer pan for making 2 or 3 egg omelets, what would you recommend? I rarely make crepes. I make mostly omelets. I am thinking of buying a pan dedicated for cooking eggs. (I don't want something with a non-stick coating). I want the pan to behave like a non-stick pan without having the non-stick coating.

Does anyone have a recipe similar to the Whole Foods Veggie Burger

Here is the corrected list of ingredients. Apparently the printed ingredient label for the item does not match the deli case copy of the ingredient list. Here is the list of ingredients (note: cashew was listed in the deli case copy of the ingredient list).

Cauliflower, carrot, red pepper, celery root, peas, parsley, tofu, mayonaise, chicken-style broth powder (corn syrup solids, salt, vegetarian chicken flavor, onion, autolyzed yeast extract, garlic, celery seed, tumeric, parsley, carrots, food starch, sugar, tomato, potatoes, pepper, celery), wheat gluten, Bragg's liquid aminos, garbanzo beans, sea salt, basmati rice, quinoa, vegan worcestershire (worcestershire sauce, red onion, flour, red cabbage, cashews, mushrooms).

The label showed "tofu (long list of items)". In the long list of items, organic soybean was listed.

Looking for general purpose pan which conducts well

I still need to fix the seasoning on my cast iron pan in any case. I use it mainly for french toast and pancakes. I don't see myself using it as an every day pan for various reasons which you can imagine.

If the seasoning starts coming off, do you just rub some oil on it and bake it to season the bottom, or do you need to remove the seasoning off the entire bottom of the pan and season it again? Did you use vegetable oil or something else like flaxseed oil to season your pan?

I can't use another cast iron skillet since I need to be able to cook some Indian food in the pan (which is normally tomato-based).

Thanks a lot for the comments. I will go to the store and see if I can manage the weight of the pan. On another note, is a copper core pan a lot harder to scrub clean than a SS pan? I have SS pans at home, but don't have any experience with copper core pans.

Thanks for the tip. I would rather add cheese since this is something which I already have in my refrigerator. Tamari or soy sauce also sounds good since these are things which I normally have in my refrigerator.

Maybe those things were soybeans.

Can I add wheat germ instead of nutritional yeast? Is ground flax seed also a good substitute for nutrional yeast? I think that I have all of the ingredients for southwest veggie burger in my fridge except for the nutritional yeast. Also, instead of baking the burgers at 400 degrees for 25-30 min., can I instead pan fry the burgers?

Unfortunately I already threw away the list of ingredients. It is possible that they are using some kind of vegetarian substitute for chicken broth. I don't completely trust the list of ingredients since cashew was not listed, but I found things in the burger which tasted and looked like cashew.

Looking for general purpose pan which conducts well

The problem I have with the Lodge pan is that the pan is too big for my hob. I don't need the pan to heat quickly. The most important thing to me is that the pan heat up evenly, is NOT non-stick, is not reactive, and is not too hard to clean. It would be great if the pan can go into the oven. I also always hand wash my pans. I am not going to get a copper core pan since I don't want something which is too heavy to handle.

It looks similar, although it is smissing some of the vegetables like tofu. I can probably use the recipe as a base and then add other things to it. Thanks for your help.

Looking for general purpose pan which conducts well

Thanks for your advice. I looked at your friend's posting. I'll probably skip the copper core since I don't want a heavy pan. Pan selection is probably very subjective. I need to go to the store and see which pan feels comfortable in my hand. Probably any saute pan will be better than what I am using right now. I am trying to use a stockpot for my general cooking right now. It is really horrible for making omelets and quesadillas.

Is there much difference between the copper core and all stainless steel? I am not sure if it is worth it to pay the extra money for copper core. Also, are there pans of other brands which work just as well?

I don't see these things on the ingredient list, but I am picking the burger apart and I see some things in it which look like chickpeas and cashews. I also think that there is some purple onion, and rice in it.

Looking for general purpose pan which conducts well

I already have a Lodge 12'' pan which does not conduct well. I would like to get another pan which conducts well for every day use. I also prefer a pan which will not react to acidic foods (like tomato-based dishes).

I will probably use it to saute/stir fry as well as make omelets. I do not want a non-stick pan. Would the 3 Qt. All Clad Copper Core saute pan be a good choice? I am ok with spending more money on a pan if the pan will last a long time (and will not be throw away like a non-stick pan). I also don't want a pan which is too heavy to handle. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Here are the ingredients. If you have a veggie burger recipe which has similar ingredients, I would be interested in trying it out. It looks complex based on the ingredient list. I am also wondering if the veggie burger can be frozen. If the recipe is hard, I would prefer to make a bunch and freeze some of them.

Ingredients: cauliflower, carrot, red pepper, celery root, peas, parsley, tofu, mayonnaise, sunflower/soybean oil, cane juice, vinegar, salt, mustard, apple cider, lemon juice concentrate, guar gum, xantham gum, sodium alginate, chicken broth powder, dehydrated vegetables
