need refrigerator advice
Remodeling a house and down to the last thing. I need a fridge, and I don't want to spring for a built in. I want cabinet depth, stainless steel and preferably a bottom freezer, as I want room for casserole dishes, etc. so a side-by-side won't work. I don't want to spend any more than $3500 or $4000 (and I'd certainly spend less), but I also want to know that I'm getting something quality. Any recommendations?
appliance help!
My wife and i are renovating an old house and have gutted the kitchen. I need to pick new appliances by the end of this week, and I'm at my wit's end. I'm normally a big devotee of Consumer Reports, but the information (combined with what I'm finding on the net) is SO conflicting.
My big question is: is there any real advantage to a built-in fridge? by all indications, they break down more, and the actual usable space is often less (according to CR). Other than aesthetics, how can I justify the extra $3-5k extra to get one?
Actually, what I'd love is to hear what some of you more knowledgeable folks would do. I have $15k for appliances. I want a refrigerator, 36 in gas cooktop, double wall oven, microwave, separate hood. What would you get? (I have an almost new GE Profile dishwasher that I'm keeping). Also, I want everything stainless. Any thoughts?
