Is an inexpensive NY wedding possible?

The restaurant is a good size. There is a front and a back area. But its quite loud and gets very crowded. We were 8 people.

One Lunch, One Brunch in Chicago - Where to Eat

Hi - I am going to Chicago for a wedding and so will have limited opportunities to check out Chicago's food scene. I'll pretty much have one week day lunch and one sunday brunch/lunch. I am staying downtown,

So, far I've been considering Frontera Grill, XoCo, The Publican (for brunch), David Burke's PrimeHouse for the sunday dim sum (got an opentable reservations for that). Am also considering the Girl & the Goat, Avec, The Purple Pig? I am willing to cab it out to other neighborhoods but am staying at the renaissance chicago downtown.

My significant other has never been to chicago before, and I haven't been in years, so I'm only vaguely familiar with the town but want to make sure he comes away impressed with the food. thanks!

Is an inexpensive NY wedding possible?

The trick I think is to look for restaurants that have private spaces. I recently did a bachelorette at Otto in west village - tons and tons of food. It was less than $100 pp including an all-you-can drink option. I believe they have a private dining space.

smorgasburg! what to eat?

I couldn't find a post on smorgasburg - the new food festival in Williamsburg.

I was there last weekend, and didn't love what I ended up choosing, from a vietnamese stand. It was a crepe made with rice flour, pork shoulder, and shrimp, which you ate with various greens. Just wasn't that tasty and the shrimp were pretty basic tiny little guys.

Any advice on what to try there? I am thinking the lobster roll from red hook.

Seeking Restaurant for Large Group Brunch in Brooklyn?

Try Sette in Park Slope, on the F line. They take reservations and do groups. They also have a wonderful prix fixe brunch. Another option in park slope in stone park cafe, but I'm not sure if they will do a group.

Good brunch places in Red Hook?

Are there any good places for brunch in Red Hook? The Good Fork is open only for dinner and I am looking for some place to check out with a few friends on Sunday. We plan on walking around the neighborhood.

Where to buying plants/seedlings in Brooklyn to grow herbs?

I'd like to grow some herbs in my apartment this fall and winter. I know its a bit late in the game, but I'm hoping it might still work. Can anyone tell me where to buy seeds or herbs in Brooklyn? Close to Carroll Gardens would be great!

Harina PAN in NYC?

I used to find Harina PAN (special cornmeal flour from Veneuela to make arepas) at my local grocery store in Morningside Heights, but they no longer sell it. Can someone please tell me where to buy Harina PAN in Manhattan or Brooklyn? I assume its available in Washington Heights, or possibly Spanish Harlem, but the names of any particular stores would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
