Kosher Deluxe, 10 West 46, NYC

This restaurant is under the supervision of a Rav Amrom Roth. Is it a reliable supervision?

Eatery Suitable For Kids-NYC

Any suggestions for eateries on the Lower East Side or Midtown, near Macy's ,that would be good for kids, ages 9-15. Reliable hechshers also.

Thanks.

Bat Mitzvah - Long Island and Israel

I recently attended an affair at Shulchan David In Jerusalem. It is near Zion Gate. It was a beautiful affair. Presented beautifully and tasty too. They have an indoor and outdoor area. I understand from the host that the cost was very reasonable. The person they worked with was Dani (female).

Best Falafel In Jerusalem

Heading for Jerusalem soon. One of my main joys there is the falafel. What places can you recommend. Years back there was a place in Machane Yehuda and another on Ushiskin street that were recommended. Thanks.

Atlantic City

Check out the prior postings attached to the Related section, which may be to the right of your screen. My wife was there 2 weeks ago at the Jerusalem restaurant which finally has a recognized hashgacha (OK). They accomodated her needs well and the food was good, but pricey.

Reviews of Passover Hotel Programs?

Looking for comments on the program in Lancaster, Pa and Princeton, NJ.

kosher livingston subway closing

Kosher Subway-Baltimore
I stopped in here and really was unimpressed. The veggies that they would added to the sandwich looked so bland. They have a salad option with deli, and this would have been one boring salad. I just couldn't see what the hoopla was all about. The schnitzel that they would have had on a sandwich was cut up and meager looking. My only comparison was to Schnitzi's in Brooklyn on Coney Island Avenue, where the salads and assorted dressings seemed sooo much more appealing.
Not really surprised that such a place closed up.

Best kosher restaurant

I felt I had to comment on the kosher chinese restaurants. As a teenager, my immigrant parents dicovered non-kosher chinese food. Our venture was limited to chicken chow mein, but i enjoyed it thoroughly cooked in a thick sauce with lots of vegetables. Later, I loved Bernsteins, both for chinese and deli. (Are Chiinese dishes just sauteed these days?)
Last week, I was dismayed at my chicken vegetable choice at Lin's in Manville. My child's selection was only slightly better. My party's selections during my last visit in August to David Chu's in Baltimore, tasted similar and not as great as in the past (Next night visit to Accents was much better). I visited the Chosen in Forest Hills in September 2007 and found it to be better than OK, but not justifying a trip from New Jersey. Chaung Mao in Deal, NJ was better than average, not spectacular, though.

Is it Kosher restaurant food are all restaurant food that has gone down in standards? Or maybe is it just me? I even tried those two pizza places highly recommened on the list: the one on Avenue J near East 14, Pizzatime and Benny's (Avenue M). Treif pizza as a kid was sooo much better.

The one rstaurant that I have consistently liked after 3-4 visits, is Back to Nature, in Allenhust, NJ, next to Deal, NJ. I look forward to your comments.

Back to Nature on the Jersey Shore

Thoroughly enjoyed the three or four times I have been to Back to Nature. Went to Mosaica in Union, NJ last week. Excellent service, pleasent staff, food was good, not spectacular. Ambiance ok, a bit crowded. I think it was pricey for good but not spectacular food, my wife disagrees.

Atlantic City and Kosher Restaurants

Well if it's true that the OK is supervising Jerusealem that is great. It's about time that they got a "recognized" supervision instead of a local person. They needed that for their out of town patrons.

Place to take a date near Lakewood

I would second Back to Nature on a quiet night. Manalapan pizza is not really a date place. There is a parve/dairy restaurant called Tastebuds in Howell (outside of Lakewood). Never been there, maybe someone else can comment.

Wedding in Williamsburgh

I just went to a wedding last night at the Rose Castle. The smorg was not overdone but the food was tasty. The main course was either grilled chicken cutlet or another type of chicken cutlet with some type of covering. I had grilled which was surprisingly tender and tasty (surprised for a mass production establishment). Soup was good also. Waiter staff was attentive also. The dancing space is large and yes the floor does feel to have a slight give to it. The chupah room was a touch tight. I also noticed that they have an outdoor upstairs area for an outside wedding, which looked very nice. Maybe not an option in December, but there must have been an earlier wedding that day enjoying yesterday's pleasent weather. Mazel tov and Hatzlachah.

Jersey shore restaurant recommendations

I really like Back to Nature in Allenhurst. The soups are good and the food is delicious. Also was at Chang Mao recently. My wife was very pleased, while it was OK by me. Check out the jsor.org website for the list under seupervision.

Sunday lunch near Woodbridge NJ

Being from the area, Highland Park is between 15-20 minutes away. To get to Livingston would be some 30-40 minutes at least. Highland Park would not take your Philly or Brooklyn people out of their way. Philly people can return via the Turnpike in East Brunswick, Exit 9; Brooklyn people would take the Outerbridge back.

Monticello and Woodbourne New York

Any places to eat that anyone recommends. Also where is Fialkoff's bakery?

Jersey Shore Kosher

Is there anything new in the Deal are this summer? Did any places close since last summer?

What's the kosher situation in the Atlantic City/Ventnor area.
Thanks!!!!!!

Atlantic City and Kosher Restaurants

Going to a convention for work in AC. What's the latest on Shari's and Jerusalem restaurants. Are there any others?

Tastebuds in Howell, NJ (Lakewood suburb)

Looking for comments on this dairy restaurant.

Thanks.

KOSHER IN ATLANTIC CITY

I was in the area at the end of August, and the hasgacha situation for those two restaurants was not reliable enough for us. I do not recall what the situation was with Shari's. For Jerusalem Restaurant, the certifying rabbi was in Connecticut and he had a worker acting as the mashgiach. The Atlantic City Chabad website give you a phone number where you can get their take on the situation. http://www.chabadac.com/templates/articlecco_cdo/aid/85292/jewish/Visiting-Atlantic-City.htm
The Ventor Pathmark has a small selection of kosher items, Empire packaged stuff as I recall.

Need kosher caterer for shabbat dinner in NJ

I would give Reuven Rahmani a call. West Orangew is not far from Morristown.

Park Place Highland Park NJ

This restaurant was also discussed on two threads dated November 19 and December 14. I was there around 9 PM on December 31. There was no wait. The food was very good and plentiful.

Phenomenal Kosher Pizza? Does it Exist?

Finally, had the opportunity to be in Brooklyn the past Saturday night to try out the two pizza places that are recommended mainly in this thread, Benny's and Pizzatime. Having grown up eating nonkosher, kosher pizza has been disappointing for the past 25 years or so. I was alone so I had the opportunity to go to both places. At Benny's the pizza looked different, (arrtisan?) and I hoped would have a really special taste. While the dough was lite and crisp, the sauce was tasteless. At Pizzatime, I was presented with a reheated slice, and I was not at all impressed.
I have to say that from memory in my single days, J2 on Broadway was good and and I have some faint recollection of Amnon's in Boro Park as not bad.

So why is it that the treif pizza was better so long ago for me? Is the treif cheese and sauces trully better or could it be that standards in pizza have overall slipped since my youth?
Thanks for your comments.

New Kosher Restaurant In Highland Park-Park Place

Curious to hear feedback on the Park Place Restaurant in Highland Park. It is located on Raritan Avenue, between South First and South Second.

Lack of Kosher Yogurt

Over the past few years Dannon, Breyers, Yoplait, (possibly Columbo) have dropped their reliable hashgachas. What is left is store brands, La Yogurt, and the cholev Israel companies.

What's the best yogurt out there now with a recognized supervision/hashgacha. Also why are the major manufactureres changing their ingredients and losing supervision? Thanks.

Kosher in Deal/Long Branch

Had a nice meal at Back to Nature. Service was good, food was tasty. I was happier there than my visit to Mazanobah a month ago.

Flaffel Factory Sayreville NJ

When it first opened, maybe 6 months ago, the supervision was not widely accepted. Has there been a recent change to a new supervision?

Kosher in Deal/Long Branch

Thanks havdalah, but the JSOR website has not been updated. I was in Deal yesterday and things have changed since last summer.

Kosher in Deal/Long Branch

Is that a candy/ice cream place?

Kosher in Deal/Long Branch

Can someone sum up the places in the Deal are this summer. I was down there yesterday. Freddies and Scops are closed. Did the two pizza shops change owners?
I understand that Kyo and 656 are upscale. What about moderate places to eat. How is Chang Mao.

Thanks
