Paesanos New Location - Is it open yet?
There was a snafu with pgw and the l&i people[city of phila] I was told to look for them to open early february
NE Philly:Anything new/anything good?
We had dinner at macaronis on sat night 9/26....overall it was very good....we had calamari...arugula/fig salad...pumpkin ravioli[a special]...rigatoni with sausage...chicken sicialian and a fish with risotto...also a cannoli for dessert. Service is good however the noise level can be high. They don't take reservations. Prices seem high but are well worth it
From the Boot in Ambler - happily reporting back!
Ate there sunday night 9/13...roasted red pepper salad[from a jar with provolone sliced from a roll..deli style..linguine with hot peppers...not hot at all...rolls were like parker house white bread with grease and garlic on top..only thing that was decent was a side of spinach sauteed in oil and garlic. I can,t believe how mediocre this place was..sorrentos on ridge is much better and they,re not so hot!
Any opinions on Slate or Noble American Cookery near Rittenhouse Square?
I,ve dined at Noble twice...once right after they opened and last saturday[8/1]. Very good both times and they have lowered the prices a bit. I had the scallop app,sable entree and blueberry-peach cobbler. Also a side of delicious local veggies.The entree was great. Ask to sit upstairs as they did a great renovation. Good eating!!

I saw no mention of either bibou[1009 S 8th st] or l'angolo[1415 porter st]. Both are very good....french and italian byob's

in response to enjoy good food I believe cresheim cottage is closed....scoogis was never better then fair to me....people rave about from the boot in lafayette hill I've never been..cincin in chestnut hill is consistent[and noisy] chinese with a french twist. Also umbria on gtown ave and wine thief both in mt airy.
PHL - Ansill closed, maybe permanently, AAARGH
I've never been to ansill however his last place, pif was WONDERFUL and he closed it to open ansill.....bibou is now in pif's old space what a shame

Sovana came highly recommended and was disappointing...try the birchrunville store cafe or talulas[mentioned above]
