Best nabeyaki udon in Toronto?
Wow ematei seems to be getting all the votes I guess I will try it there.
I also saw someone order it at wow sushi (one of my fav sushi spots now) and it looked decent has anyone had a chance to try it.
I also find it hard to go back to normal soup base after having tried the Kombu Tsuyu (its the seaweed based version according to my Japanese friend). I pick up this Yamasa brand soup base at J-Town and have not seen it elsewhere and highly recommend it for home cooks.
Its a surprisingly easy though requiring a lot of distinct ingredients dish which is nice on a cold day.

I am long time fan of Lawry's Prime Rib. A bit of the main drag but the food, ambiance and service are top notch.

Seor Ak San was recommended by friends and I found their Kalbi to be decent. It is not pricey as well (they are more popular for bibimbap but their Spicy Kalbi was good)

Hmm I recall seeing it at The Pub in Monte Carlo Casino you might wanna give them a call. That place is underrated and has an amazing beer selection.

ctl98 how is the Peking duck at Crown Princess? Being a downtown dweller myself that's my go to spot for dim sum now but I haven't tried any other stuff from them.

I would recommend Chung King Garden Restaurant for Peking Duck as its one of the best in the city. The ambiance and service are not comparable to the other options you mentioned here.
Emperor is a very good value on Monday.

Thanks for sharing I guess the prices have gone up as I recall paying 266$ including taxes and tips with alcohol pairing last year. I agree the sum of parts is greater than the whole as some dishes stand out while others are just average. The alcohol matching was the weakest part of the meal IMO.
I think I will give it another go next time I am in the area otherwise Robucon sounds very tempting.

LCBO spring beer release - finally a good release
Well you should try the Panil if you like sour beers I picked up a bottle from cooper street LCBO. It has a good rating on beeradvocate. I tried it yesterday hmm not my kind of beer but I can see people who like sour beers enjoying it.

You can hit Corks in Longos. Drinks are reasonably priced and you can order pizza from the main store and if I recall correctly they have the 6.99$ wings deal on Friday. If you like local beer and wine they have a decent selection.

I finally got to try Ju Izakaya today for lunch. Thanks for the recommendation Charles the burger was awesome and somehow reminded me of Mos Burger Teriyaki Chicken iteration. Good stuff folks try it while you can.

Texas De Brazil (If you are a meat luver this is your best bet)
Other one that I have heard and read a lot about is the Sterling Buffet. I have never tried it as I would rather spend that kind of money on a good meal than a buffet.
Other one that gets recommended is the M Resort buffet.
LCBO spring beer release - finally a good release
Alright folks I take some of the stuff I hate about LCBO back as they have somewhat redeemed themselves this year. The Beer selection has been decent (luved the Dominus line of beers they brought in the winter) same goes for the la trappe beers they had (Tripel and Quadrupel) were both amazing)
I picked up Westmalle and Var Tripel a few weeks ago. Var Tripel was average and am planning to enjoy Westmalle soon. Also picked up the Lupulus today (cooper street had a few bottles left) Now if LCBO can bring Ommegang line of beers from south of the border they would be almost perfect.

I had one today from Longos at ACC as it was featured in their flyer. It didn't disappoint and actually tastes better than it even looks. 2.99 a pop and you get a discount if you buy 6. Recommended.

I would recommend Lawry's The Prime Rib . Service and food are ode to old school era of fine dinning. Can't recommend it enough.
Fresh hedgehog mushrooms at Costco
Thanks for sharing. I have picked up Chanterelles (a close relatives to the hedgehog mushrooms) a couple of times from the North York Location and they were very nice. Full of great taste with eggs or pasta.

Against the grain had a huge nacho portion with tons of chicken. Taste was decent while warm.
The Football factory has freshly fried nacho chips that set them apart from the other I have tried.

Money no object Joel Robuchon at MGM grand. They even have a complimentary limo service if you dine there.
For a food snob/luver I would recommend E bu Jose Andreas if they can accommodate you as its reservation only.

Would you mind sharing what the prices are now as I have read they have changed from the 250$ all in with alcohol, tax and tips format they had last year.
Where to splurg for a dinner on the Strip
e by Jose andreas would fit the bill. It was 250$ including tax and tips last year and you get a 20+ course dinner. It is by reservation only though. Plenty of great reviews.
