Haven't been to West LA in a good while. Can someone clue me in--what restaurants have opened there in the last six months or so? |

I think O2, in the Borders shopping center at Alamo and Tapo Canyon, is quite good. I'm not sure what their hours are so call ahead. http://foodieuniverse.blogspot.com/2009/01/restaurant-review-215-o2-sushi-simi.html. Some of the other nicer places in the area are Red Fish and Spark Woodfire Grill (at Simi Valley Town Center, the mall) and Amuse Bouche. I haven't been to any of these but wanted to throw out some other suggestions. If you don't need to impress anyone, there's also a pretty good hole in the wall Greek place called Greek House Cafe. http://www.greekhousecafe.com/ I really like their hummus, pita, tzatziki, feta, and gyro. For passable Indian, there's Indian Haweli: http://foodieuniverse.blogspot.com/2009/03/restaurant-review-217-indian-haweli.html Or you could consider driving over to Moorpark for Cafe Firenze, which is the restaurant of one of last season's Top Chef contestants: http://foodieuniverse.blogspot.com/20... Dining in Simi isn't as bad as it's reputed to be. You just have to know where to look. And now you do. Let me know how it goes! |
