How to cook Corned Beef Round?

I put mine in a crock pot and braise it all day into the night.
When it's done, I put it in the fridge. The next day it's tender
and easy to cut. I can reheat it if I want.

potatoes in chicken soup?

I have a couple small, left-over boiled potatoes. Can I add them to the chicken soup I'm going to make? Or would they spoil the soup?

cookie sheet bangs and goes unlevel

when i'm using my cookie sheet, when it reaches about 300, there's a loud, startling bang and the cookie sheet goes twisted with two sides up and two down.
I'm using it to roast chicken now and all the grease is going to one side. This cookie sheet I thought was heavy duty at $20.
What can I buy that won't do this and stay flat and level?
Is there a cookie sheet that won't do this?
Thanks for any advise.

deglazing in cast iron

when sauteeing chicken in a CI skillet, when deglazing (I use water or broth), does deglazing remove the seasoning from the CI skillet?
I've always used stainless steel and I would like to break in my new
CI skillet for the first time use.

Tomato pasta sauces in cast iron?

appreciate your answer.
your advice about "two steps forward, one step back" is what I was concerned about.
Guess I better build up the seasoning before I attempt even a little tomato.
I'll make the soffritto in the cast iron and then transfer it to stainless steel for the tomato addition.

Tomato pasta sauces in cast iron?

thanks for your response, I was actually referring to the tomato that is added After the soffritto is made, the soffritto isn't an issue, the issue is the acid in the tomato, thanks again

Are there any American Restaurants in Europe?

Europeans, most of the world for that matter, are wild for American culture and food.

Tomato pasta sauces in cast iron?

My grandmother cooked all our tomato sauces in the cast iron skillet.
Now I learn that tomato shouldn't be cooked in cast iron because it
harms the seasoning of the skillet.
Is this correct? After you make the soffritto, can you add the tomato to the skillet without harming the seasoning of the skillet?

Which would you advise?

Thanks for all your responses. Helps a lot.
Skillet wins that space in my kitchen...somewhere.
Maybe in stove for storage.
Thanks again

Which would you advise?

It's getting crowded in my kitchen for cooking utensils.
Would you suggest a cast iron skillet over cast iron
grill/griddle?
Thanks.
