Halifax: where to get fresh Kaffir lime leaves?

I'll bump this up just for an update: The Spice Man (Costas Halavrezos) has Kaffir lime leaves at his stall in the old brewery market. And a lot of other wonderful spices as well. Tonka beans even!

IL Mercato - Downtown Halifax location

to add to what the others say (and agree) it is very noisy, watch your heels on their slippy floor and the roasted chicken ravioli is lovely! I have also had some mains there - the pork tenderloin was pretty good! For a little more money, you could head up to daMaurizio and get some really amazing pasta.

Need Suggestions for NS Dining.

If you are stopping Halifax and want seafood, I would highly suggest the Press Gang for their oyster bar. And if you make it a Friday after 7 or so you will get a little piano music with your dinner. Love that place!

Lobster Rolls & Hot Lobster Sandwiches

I know you are not going all the way to Yarmouth, but shoudl you ever do so in the future, try the Windlass out on the Chebogue road. I haven't been there in a few years but I recall hot lobster sandwiches that my local relatives took me to try. They were marvelous!
