Thanks so much for all your suggestions. I called Safeway in Bel Air MD yesterday and the butcher informed me that he usually always has them in stock. I am now well stocked and ready to embark on my recipe - slow roasting in port and red wine. Thanks again guys....

Hello everyone,
I hail from the UK where lamb shanks are very abundant, sadly, I cannot seem to locate any here in the supermarkets in my area. I have tried Giant, Food Lion, Shop-rite and Wegmans (to no avail!!). There are no high street butchers where I live so am at a loss. I have tried searching on-line but still remain shankless. I know a Canadian poster asked a similiar question and had wonderful responses. I'd really appreciate any tips on where I can find these delicious delicacies as I'd love to ccok them for the 4th. Thanks so very much....
