Cravings
Brooklyn Yogurt Factory doesn't appear to be functional yet, though it IS there. I'm going to have to try this place one of these days!
Anyone baking schlissel challah?
Do it every year, but with a different recipe... this one looks like it might be a keeper. I usually do both a key shape and the key wrapped in foil, but I forgot to make the key shape this year.
Ciao Bella ice cream/yogurt/sorbet moving to OU
It's because of chalav Yisrael concerns. The OU doesn't actually use a DE designation... but it doesn't matter to me, because unless it's marked pareve, I won't eat it.
Ciao Bella ice cream/yogurt/sorbet moving to OU
I HATE it when that happens. I won't eat it even if it's just dairy equipment, so that makes me mad.
Tropical Shalach Manot?
I did this theme one year... I don't remember exactly what was included in it, though! Pineapple, banana, macadamia nuts, and coconut milk (those little cartons made by So Delicious) were in there for sure.
Chocolate covered nuts
Nuts.com, formerly nutsonline.com, always has top-quality stuff.
Chalav Yisrael goat milk yogurt
Does this exist? If so, does anyone know where I can find it?
Pareve half and half / heavy cream
So happy to hear that -- because I realized I never mentioned its intended usage, and I wanted to make ice cream with it (the recipe included with the ice cream maker calls for half and half + heavy cream, but I don't want it to be dairy).
Pareve half and half / heavy cream
I think I've seen this before -- not in a while, though. Will keep an eye out for it! Thanks
Pareve half and half / heavy cream
Are there any pareve certified alternatives for half & half and heavy cream? I know that Silk creamer can be used as a half & half substitute, but it's OUD.
Greek Yogurt
I'm 99.9% sure it doesn't, since I've been trying in vain to find it for years. I'm sure it won't be the same, but there's a pareve coconut milk Greek yogurt hitting store shelves soon.
Pareve peanut butter chips
I know there have been posts about this in the past, but I'm hoping things have changed since then... the only kosher peanut butter chips I can find are Sunspire, and they're OUD. Are there any pareve options out there?
Any Interesting New Passover Products?
I'm in NYC, so I'm guessing I shouldn't have TOO much trouble...
Any Interesting New Passover Products?
That is fantastic!! I hope I can find it here...
Teff?
I tried the pudding recipe on the back of the bag, but I think I'm going to try sprouting it. I have no idea if it will work, but I don't see why it shouldn't...
Teff?
I actually called Back to the Land in Brooklyn and asked whether they carry it, and they said that they do... I guess I'll have to find my way there one of these days.
Re: the hashgacha, I probably wouldn't mind as much if raw grains were the only thing produced in that factory. But if it's manufactured on shared equipment (as is the case with the brand I can easily find), I'm just not comfortable with it.
Teff?
Raw teff, I'm told, doesn't NEED to have a hechsher... but if I know that there's an option out there that DOES have one, I'd rather use it.
Teff?
The only kosher brand I know of is Bob's Red Mill, and I can't find it in any stores... I don't particularly care to pay nearly $15 to have it shipped to me. Anyone know where I can find this (or another kosher brand) in the NYC area?
powdered milk substitute
Soy powder should do the job:

Kosher food, Shabbat, in Marrakech, Istanbul
I'm pretty sure Chabad is in Istanbul; they would definitely be able to help you out with your questions.
Filling a Jelly donut?
I once bought doughnut pans that came along with an inexpensive plastic pastry injector. It works fine if you're not making a huge quantity. I'm sure you could find one online or in a kitchen store.
Parve nut-free chocolate
Enjoy Life Foods also has 100% nut-free chocolate chips. They have bars, too, but I'm not sure how they'd work in baking.
Anybody go to Kosherfest?
I was excited about the Mountain Bread too, and I emailed the company to find out where I could get it; they told me a couple of stores, but said that I should call the distributor for other outlets... the distributor is apparently McMahon Farms.
