Best Traditional Buffalo Wings in Phoenix?

When I think "traditional" I have to think you're looking for something close to the Anchor Bar in Buffalo where Buffalo Wings were concocted. Admittedly I haven't tried many around town but Native New Yorker is very, very similar to the offerings at Anchor Bar.

East Valley Healthy

Is their pizza OK? We got as close as the front door and saw their stupid saving the planet one slice at a time nonsense and walked away. We wound up getting a pizza at Bellagio. It was OK. Marcos has closed.

Mad Max's BBQ Albuquerque (Rio Rancho)

After several borderline or unpleasant experiences with local BBQ joints (I won't name them by name) we literally stumbled into Mad Max's in Rio Rancho. It's right next door to Intel and is indeed a true delight. The building is small and the people friendly. On our initial visit we had simple pulled pork sandwiches with cole slaw and baked beans. The pork had just the right amount of smoke and was served on a really tasty french roll. To our surprise, it was not slathered in sauce, rather we were provided three bottles of sauce...regular (a very good tomato base), extra hot and a mustard sauce sauce in squeeze containers.. All were plenty tasty. The coleslaw and beans also were pleasers. All sweet but not too much so. It's rare to find a place that seems to do everything right but this appears to be one. Our only regret was not trying a combo plate and taking leftovers back to the hotel. Well... in Cincinnati at least we have the Montgomery Inn to fall back on... ha! Little ol' ABQ is becoming a big city food town rather quickly.

which brand of green chili in a jar is recommended

Wow reddirtgirl... this has been a problem we've faced in Cincinnati as well. I highly recommend Cannon Chile products. They are available in local ABQ grocery stories and via mail order on the web. Slather their green over your burger or eggs and you won't think you've ever left. - - - Lar

Roger that Doc. Greasy and grubby about covers it. I've read rave reviews of this Denny's with green chile before and held my tongue. There are far, far better choices in this fine city. - - - Lar

SE Asian in NE Brasil

Toot, tnx and yes we know...we've been there. The regional cuisine is truly wonderful. We're moving to Joao Pessoa though and one thing we would miss is the SE Asian cuisine we've become so accustomed to over the last 15 years. Maybe we'll have to do our own cooking for awhile. Thanks for the Guinza tip.

SE Asian in NE Brasil

Hi all,

Does anyone know of the existence of Thai or Vietnamese restaurants in Recife, Natal or elsewhere in the Nordeste? Thanks.

Frontier... blech. Just up 4th across the street from Sadies is Sophia's Place. Little mom/pop type place, not strictly southwestern, but all good.

Y'all give the Star Hotel in Elko a try next time through. I don't think you'll be disappointed - - -Lar

Phoenix pizza

Belle'Italia is mighty fine New England style pizza. The toppings and ingredients are both plentiful and top quality. Highly recommend giving this place a try. Lar

Scottsdale-Where can I find good chicken?

Rio Sabor closed. So did Val's Brazilian in Goodyear. She's hoping to reopen somewhere around Tempe/Chandler next year. - - - Lar

Review: Mike Thai - Mesa, AZ (w/ photos!)

I sure miss Mike Thai and hope it's true they coming back. Did NOT enjoy Papaya Thai at all. Tam Nuk is good. Anyone know about the place that replaced Thai Hut on Baseline? Good? Bad?.. Lar
