tandoori's Profile
Elvis in Federal Hill
El Salto is excellent comfort food that is very reasonably priced.

Suggestions for Rehoboth?
For lunch, check out Greenman Juicebar and Bistro.
I was recently pleasantly surprised by some of the seafood at Mariachi's.
Federal Hill Bar Food
Respectfully, I have to disagree with natewv.
Anything on or south of Fort ave is SoBo.
Therefore Havana's is in FedHill, Bicycle is in FedHill South but not Baba's, RUB, Capt Larry's etc. To learn about our neighborhoods and their borders visit: http://www.livebaltimore.com/neighborhoods/list/federalhill/
Regarding the food discussion:
I'd recommend Metropolotian Coffeehouse and Wine Bar or Mother's.
Bmore: El Taquito vs. Tortilleria
Tortillera Sinoloa usually has good mushroom quesadillas, which they serve with a side of beans. (I've never eaten them, but my wife is a vegetarian and gets them when I'm on chorizo taco quest).
The Himalayan House
Absolutely love this place-- but the kitchen's been shut for renovations, per the person who answers the telephone.
Anyone know the scoop?
Moving to Federal Hill in Baltimore - Help
Welcome!
The staples that my wife and I survive on (in Fed Hill) are:
1. Thai Arroy
2. Sun Hing (really fresh, cheap takeout/delivery Chinese)
3. Mikie's Pizza (but they're only a tiny bit better than the other mediocre pizza in FedHill)
Is there any good Pizza delivery in Fed Hill?
Well, I've tried all the pizza places in Fed Hill and find them mostly lackluster.
I wish the Dog Pub would deliver, but I basically subsist on Mikie's.
It's fresh, fast and they use a bit better quality toppings.
Thanks for the tip on Zella's-- I'll check it out.
Harborque
Well, I'll have to agree with some of our posters. An A- for effort, but a B- for taste.
I've gone twice, initially to sample the pulled pork BBQ sandwich and then a second time, to sample the ribs and smoked chicken platter.
I have it on word of one of their front staff that a number of their sides are cooked from frozen and outsourced, for example the onion rings. The ribs were quite subpar for 1) a place that prides itself on 'que, and 2) the exorbitant cost, in comparison with the other dishes.
With all that said, the place is a good complement to what's available in the area, and it sure is doing good business. I'm sure that folks like the location, and the large portions definitely make some of the customers happy. Also, Rub needed the competition.
Kabab Hut off Route 40 in Catonsville
Thanks for the heads up. I went there, and I thought the food was really good in comparison with any of our local offerings.
Specifically, I've tried the chicken tikka kabab, chicken tandoori, and the chicken lollipop.
The chicken tikka kabab was juicy, succulent but a little bit bland.
The chicken tandoori was excellent aside from a little extra charring.
Finally, the chicken lollipop was subpar-- overfried, too salty, and inappropriately seasoned for lollipop traditionalists.
As an aside, the accompanied rice is very good however the naans taste a little too much like Bisquick.
Service was polite, fast and friendly.
I will return, and hope to try many more of their dishes.
