[Columbus] Gallery Hop

Basi is wayyyyy too small for a party of ten. They may be able to accomodate you on the patio if the weather is nice and you get there at 5:00. A good walk from the Short North, it is on an alley close to Neil Avenue. Food is phenomenal.

I have never had anything less than excellent at Haiku, or noticed any smell, although I dine outside whenever possible. I usually do the noodle dishes, but my husband has the sushi platter, and loves it. We have taken friends there from California and they raved about it.

Where can I find mini-hamburger buns in Columbus, OH

yep, just saw them at weilands yesterday and did a "note to self"!

[Columbus] Gallery Hop

Diane I have not been to Mac's in ages. I can't stand the smell of the place! Smells like an old campus bar, that incredibly heavy and overwhelming smell of Pine Sol. Tell me thats gone??? Maybe I'll stop in for a beer and see for myself...

[Columbus] Gallery Hop

As you probably already know, but for the sake of those who don't, Gallery Hop is the first Saturday night of every month in the Short North. Galleries and shops stay open late, groups of 20 something men and women roam, older couples walk hand-in-hand. It is a festive, carnival-like atmosphere. With the return of the OSU crowd and hopefully a couple of good weather months, leading up to the holidays, the streets will be packed.

This said, parking is generally the big issue for this event. It's a good idea to eat somewhere where there is valet parking, then take a stroll after dinner and enjoy the shops and entertainment. And I would suggest you eat early if at all possible. Even the valet lots get packed very quickly. The Rossi is a great choice, I'm not sure if they have valet but they should be far enough North on the strip to accomodate parking. I love Haiku, they have valet, and will be able to accomodate your group with a reservation. Rigsby's is a treat, finer dining, and would be a great choice. Lemongrass has always been a favorite of mine, and again reservations for a group that size is a must. A good choice for casual burgers, salads, sandwiches and great cocktails is Bar Louis by the North Market. Enjoy your evening, your pre-planning will pay off!

Findlay Ohio Pubs

We will find ourselves in Findaly for the sept. 12th OSU-USC game. Looking for a cozy pub with a good pour and tasty bits. Your help appreciated.

Moderately priced restaurant in Columbus for group dining

There are several restaurants in the Short North that would fit your price range. Haihu is excellent for pan asian, as is Lemongrass. La Fogatta is fun and festive and would make a great place for a birthday party. I love Basi, but no way for a party of ten, unless you do the outdoor patio, and get there at 5:00.

Need a quick restaurant reccomendation for Lakewood, OH

Thanks for the quick replies, I'll check them out. I saw several mentions on Melt, but i do love green chili stew, too! Appreciate the responses.

Columbus, OH is a Great Food Town! - REPORT

Yes, my beloved Tapatio, with margaritas we dubbed "quaaludes in a cup", closed many moons ago. Everything else mentioed is still up and going. Columbus is all non-smoking now, with outdoor patio exceptions.

Need a quick restaurant reccomendation for Lakewood, OH

Running up to Lakewood tomorrow and would like to have a great lunch. We are foodies, but enjoy a good dive every now and then. Extra points for perch and walleye offerings with a lake view! Thanks.

New Orleans Foodies need help deciding on best Caribbean Resort experience

Sorry Lyonola, I was OOT for the weekend, too. Hope you had an amazing time in St. Barth.

New Orleans Foodies need help deciding on best Caribbean Resort experience

St. Barth's is an 8-square mile island with breathtaking beaches, and over 80 restaurants, ranging from picnic creole to haute French cuisine, and tres high end in-between. Gorgeous boutique hotels, and many many private villas to choose from. Foodie paradise.

St. Bart's restaurant recommendations

I have not had the pho, but did have a simple broth/noodle soup. Had some seroius...hmmm...upset...and hubby did a soup run for medicinal purposes! Love Baz, fun! I think all of the bartenders on St. Barth's are very tolerant!

St. Bart's restaurant recommendations

Yes, Alicia, La Cave is still there, although every time I go by it's closed! Baz Bar on the harbor in Gustavia is a great place for sushi, and so is La Mandala.

I love Le Vietnam. We usually eat there for lunch (one of the few restaurnats that is actually enclosed and air conditioned, nice in the heat of the day). They have terrific pad thai. highly recommended. I crave a little heat after all of the French food.

I believe the "african" place reffered to in the thread is K fe Massai, and it is not African, but the decore is. Well, sort of. It is a fabulous restaurant. The prix fixe menus are outstanding, as are the board specials. They make a killer mojito there, too.
